Google To Shut Down Keyword Tool For People Without Adword Account

First, Happy fourth of July to everyone. I was reading a post about the keyword tool feature. According the this post the keyword tool is going to be shut down next month for people who do not have an adwords account, I will post the source below.

There are a lot of other keyword tools to use, some more effective than others naturally. However some get their information directly from the keyword tool and you have to log in your information. What does everyone thing about this? Is this a move for Google to push more people to buy adwords?

That's not going to make more people buy adwords imo, it will just lead people to use other keyword tools

Everyone can create a adwords account for free as far as I know. So what is the problem? You just create a adwords account (if you not already have one) and you can use the tool again.

Isn't every service Google gives under the same account? From what I've seen (i've vaguely looked over my profile) there are different services like Analytics, Adword etc etc that just show up. Maybe it's because I already have those, but I believe they all use the same login.

Bottom line, could be a trick to get more ppl to sign up for free and they try to persuade via emails and free offers or might be something totally unrelated.

What I think they meant is that people who are in the adwords program selling ads. I am pretty sure people have to get approved for that. I always see when I look on my gmail "adwords account banned, we can help" or something like that. I think they are just trying to get more people to buy keywords in stead of paying an SEO. It doesn't matter in this niche unless you are selling poker supplies or something like that.

I thought you had to give a credit card for an adwords account.

Even if you don't, they will certainly be sending plenty of emails asking people to upgrade for paid traffic, they will also be sending out the freebies of free $50 or $100 etc in postal mail.

I'm not a privacy freak by any means, but the general thought of this has always worried me and I'd imagine more and more services are going to end up account based.

As Google has grown they're slowly but surely using there search market share and innovation to gather unreal amounts of information.

They know what people are searching for (search) and watch (Youtube), when they go to your site (click tracking), exactly how many people go to your site and where from (analytics), the keywords your searching for (keyword tool), the other websites your associated with (webmaster tools), the emails that you send (gmail), the things that go through your phone (android), what you're working on (docs) what you type in your browser (chrome), what you're doing tomorrow (calender), where you live (IP tracking and Google street)

I'm not speculating what they do with the information and it doesn't keep me awake, but bloody hell they must know more than the government about me by now. And it's all easily attainable by just signing in through my Google account.

I don't think so, I never had to hand over any information until I wanted to deposit/withdraw. Unless it's changed recently.
