VB4 is yuk yuk yuk. Full of bugs and well known to crash alot. More time should have been put into this upgrade before doing it.

Maybe a second site should have been put up so ALL private members could have trailed it and commented before affecting the main site.

Would be nice if the "Icons" to the left of the forum titles on were a little more "clear" in the sense the blue/grey combination you have to strain somewhat to see whether or not a section has a new post.
You can find me on LinkedIn or Twitter.

I am seeing a lot of spam posts this morning, is this anything to do with the update?

Thank you for pointing out the issue with tapatalk. We have now upgraded the tapatalk software installed on our forum to support vBulletin version 4. And I have tested accessing the forums from my blackberry to confirm it works now.

For those of you who might not know, the GPWA forums can be accessed from a variety of smartphones using the tapatalk application. Information about the application is available at www.tapatalk.com.

I have realised when I try to get my seal of approval it asks me to log in and then I can not move from that page.

I like it.....Dont know what the issues might be with this version but I can read it better, Navigate easier and use the email notification without having to look for it and then check it. Its already checked and thats wonderful since I always forget to check it when I post.

Anyways I like the new forum much better than the olde one...

I noticed that when you view [Today/New] Posts the navigation links at the top takes you back to the portal Home page and not this Forum the way other pages offer.

I am using firefox at the moment and I have to say all the pastal greens and blues make it harder on the eye to read. I will agree with several comments that it looks much more modern, but its a forum not a boutique retail store. I personally think a colour change on links and titles would help a great deal as blue and green have never been best of bedfellows.

It has come to our attention that a number of members are having some issues with editing of posts after they have be posted.

This has been noted and it will be looked into.

The best temporary workaround for this is to post a follow-up post in the same thread with any changes noted if you feel it is necessary.

If it is a serious issue such as personal info accidentally posted etc, get back in touch with me, Paolino or Anthony and we will take care of it immediately.

A temporary work-around that works much of the time is the following:

If, after editing a post, the "Save" button just puts you in a wait state waiting for the edit to be saved, press the "Go Advanced" button. Frequently the "Save Changes" button on the advanced editing screen will work even when the "Save" button on the regular editing screen does not work.

I'm also noticing that when I go to click the next number in the thread pages, the "jump to page" box covers half the numbers. Not sure if that's a bug but it's a little annoying.

As stated earlier in this thread, we agreed wholeheartedly with that observation on the part of Rick and other forum members regarding the way quotes were displayed when we initially deployed vBulletin version 4.0.

I'm pleased to say that earlier today we fixed the issue in a way I think everyone will agree is a big improvement.

The fix involved changing a style, and the style will not necessarily be updated right away unless you clear the old version of the style from your cache. You can do that by doing a page refresh if the quote in this post does not appear to you enclosed within a quotation bubble.

    That's much better Michael..

The other thing I was noticing was that if you put a quote in a thread without putting the person who said it (i.e. putting quote tags around text) it doesn't come up as a quote..

I'm testing with this text here. It is inside quote tags.
Ok that seems to be working now.
    Thanks Michael

Yea that helps, quotes previously were horrible since they blended right in with the rest of the message

We continue to make good progress against the reported vBulletin 4.0 migration issues.

In terms of higher-priority issues, it now appears to me that editing existing messages now works properly and it is no longer necessary to use the advanced editing function to save edits to posts.

Also, under My Account, the functions My Payments and Seal Preferences now properly recognize a user as being logged in and do not prompt users to login again (repeatedly) rather than performing the requested function.

A number of other reported issues are also reported to be fixed, but I have not yet independently tested those fixes beyond the unit testing done by our development team.
