Thumbs up GPWA Times magazine issue 18 distributed at G2E and being mailed out next week

I'm very pleased to report the eighteenth issue of the GPWA Times Magazine will be mailed out next week and was available at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) iGaming Congress and at the GPWA cocktail party we held in Las Vegas last week.

GPWA Times Magazine - Eighteenth Issue Cover

In our cover Story, Lorien Pilling takes a hard look at what governments around the world are doing to tax and regulate iGaming. It's not the most glamorous topic, he tells us, but it is the most important by far - and affiliates need to keep current as proposed regulatory changes continue to proliferate.

And, on the topic of regulation, the Poker Player Alliance's John Pappas and the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association's Joe Brennon argue the prose and cons of federal vs. state regulation of iGaming in the U.S.; I. Nelson Rose tries to make sense of the failure thus far to pass Internet Gaming regulation in California; and Vin Naranayan offers some biting commentary on why there's more to regulation than tax policy.

Also in this issue: Paul Reilly (with a little help from William Shakespeare) encourages affiliates to cast aside their SEO fears and start reaping SEO benefits; our editorial team has some Facebook fun at Full Tilt Poker's expense; Sinead Lambert offers up some timely tips for sportsbook affiliates as the football (soccer) season starts; Jeremy Enke explains why poker affiliates, post Black Friday, must rebuild their online portfolio through strategic diversification, either into completely different niches or within the online poker market; a lively discussion on mobile gaming taken from the GPWA forums; and a new inductee into the APCW Wall of Shame.

This issue features five new affiliate interviews: graham from Toronto, casinoplanet from the Netherlands, robyroy from Bucharest, genich99 from Tel Aviv, and CasinoRecommender from Turkey. We also have an interview with Stephanie Johnson Gould of BetCroc Affiliates.

    How to Subscribe

Of course, if you did not pick up a copy in person at G2E, we would be more than happy to mail you a copy. If you are already registered on the GPWA site, then to subscribe to the GPWA Times Magazine just click on the "Edit My Details" option under the "My Account" menu bar navigation item (you need to be logged in for this option to be available). If you fill in your mailing address information in your profile, we will mail a copy of the magazine to you and we'll also include some prior issues if we have not already sent you them. If you are not already registered on the GPWA website, then just click the "Join GPWA" link above the navigation bar, and follow the "Register Now" link on that page, being sure to provide your mailing address when you register.

We will be mailing out the new issue next week, so be sure to add or update your information by the end of this week to be included in next week's mailing.

Once you enter your mailing address you will automatically receive future issues.

UPDATE: All past issues of the GPWA Times Magazine are now available online. Just click on the following link to see the eighteenth issue:

I've never actually had a magazine - assuming that's my fault for not opting in to something.

    Is there an online version?

Yes, based on your previous comment we were going to change the way we mail the ones we mailed out directly ourselves (those that go to the US and Canadian addresses). They will have GPWA and our physical address on them as the return address, but will not have the meaning of GPWA (Gambling Portal Webmasters Association) spelled out on them any longer.

You can see an online version of previous issues by following the link on the page www.gpwatimes.com. However, the files are quite large, so a bit painful to view online. In order to facilitate broader print distribution, only a portion of the current edition is online - we make the full issue available online once the next one is issued.

In terms of opting in to receive the print copies, just follow the instructions near the end of the post I made above for directions about how to subscribe - all you need to do is provide us with the mailing address where they should be sent to you.

Probably that is true of others as well. So, I've responded to your comment by adding a headline "How to Subscribe" before the relevant paragraph in announcement post that started this thread. Thanks for the nudge to make the subscription information more visible.

    Hi Michael,

My address is available in my profile, but I only receive the GPWA Times magazine once in a while (I got a few also in Barcelona during the BAC conferences).

By the way, I can see in my profile that members who are awarded the GPWA Seal of Approval receive a free t-shirt, but I've never received one.

    Sincerely,
    Amar
