Thumbs up GPWA Times Magazine Issue 7 Released

I'm very pleased to report the seventh issue of the GPWA Times Magazine is now available and is currently being distributed at the International Gaming Expo in London this week (see us at the Earls Court 1 entrance at booth L1).

GPWA Times Magazine - Seventh Issue Cover

Our cover story takes an entertaining look at the brilliant method behind the off-the-wall madness at Paddy Power. Their frequently controversial but always astute branding and marketing strategies have been responsible for their rapid expansion, in author Gary Trask's words, "from street bookie to major player in the world of Internet gambling." The Paddy Power story is a classic example of what can happen when you're not afraid to take chances.

I know you'll enjoy the "2008 Year in Review" piece, especially because it's not just any old end-of-the-year rehash, but Rebecca Liggero's up-close and personal "social review" of her professional networking encounter with online gambling's movers and shakers at some of the world's most sophisticated business venues, including the hallowed halls of Amsterdam's Casa del Rosa.

We also have in this issue interviews with seven of the best affiliate managers in the business and the longest affiliate interview we've ever published.

Finally, don't miss the thought-provoking sample of GPWA forum posts. They convey the agonized concerns and raw emotions that so many of our friends and colleagues are currently experiencing as we try to make sense of the worldwide economic turmoil and share strategies for coping with the uncertainty. One thing I can tell you for sure: Crises come and go, but the GPWA is here to stay, and is here for you.

Of course, if you are not able to pick up a copy in person at IGE in London this week, we would be happy to mail you a copy. If you are already registered on the GPWA site, then to subscribe to the GPWA Times Magazine just click on the "Edit My Details" option under the "My Account" menu bar navigation item (you need to be logged in for this option to be available). If you fill in your mailing address information in your profile, we will mail a copy of the magazine to you and we'll also include some prior issues if we have not already sent you them. If you are not already registered on the GPWA website, then just click the "Join GPWA" link above the navigation bar, and follow the "Register Now" link on that page, being sure to provide your mailing address when you register.

UPDATE: All past issues of the GPWA Times Magazine are now available online. Just click on the following link to see the seventh issue:

I should have been clearer about when distribution would take place in my original post. As I indicated in my initial post, copies were being distributed at ICE (we got the new issue back in the nick of time for us to bring some on the plane with us).

In terms of the actual mail distribution, that will begin later this week, and I expect we will have them all out the door by the end of next week. Of course, the postal service takes some time too. The bottom line is my expectation is most folks will receive them by a couple weeks from now. Sorry we can't just instantly transport them to each of you.
