Thumbs up GPWA Times magazine issue 8 to be released at CAC Amsterdam

I'm very pleased to report the eighth issue of the GPWA Times Magazine will be available at the Casino Affiliate Convention in Amsterdam this coming Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31.

GPWA Times Magazine - Eighth Issue Cover

In this issue's cover story, Gary Trask gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the latest developments in 3D gaming, which isn't just for poker anymore. He shows how LeCroupier and Buzzluck are applying the PKR formula to the rest of the casno. Lifelike graphics and astute marketing are attracting more and more players to try something dramatically different.

We also continue our popular interview series, this time with four affiliates (GPWA members casinoranking, chalkie, robertmedl, shaz) and three affiliate managers (Dina Cohen of 3Aff, Sami Malka of BestPay, and Kate Garber of Pitbull Partners). Plus Andy of Affiliate Guard Dog weighs in with his words of wisdom on choosing affiliate programs and Jeremy Enke of Poker Affiliate Listings writes on the benefits of bogging for poker affiliates.

Plus Nicky Senyard discusses the pros and cons of AdWords, Connie Burstin shares her thoughts on the competitive value of cross-cultural operations. And we report on the recent Income Access affiliate marketing survey, share comments from attendees at the GPWA January conference in Las Vegas, and Attorney Joseph Kelly examines the UIGEA's exemption from U.S. federal prosecution for fantasy sports. In addition, our "Departments" sections are chock-full of news, gossip, facts, and figures - and the latest installment of our cartoon caption contest. You're invited to enter to win!

And last, but certainly not least, we have a great six page spread from Rebecca Liggero about some of her friends in the affiliate world. See an up-close and personal view of the folks she knows behind RakeTheRake.com, Rakeback.org, Poker Source Online, Pokerisivut.com, Wager Industries, Gambling911.com, Slots.org, Online.CasinoCity.com, info-casino-online.com, CasinoGuide.com, SmartGambler.com, CasinoMeister.com and Reefmedia.com.

Of course, if you are not able to pick up a copy in person at CAC Amsterdam this coming week, we would be happy to mail you a copy. If you are already registered on the GPWA site, then to subscribe to the GPWA Times Magazine just click on the "Edit My Details" option under the "My Account" menu bar navigation item (you need to be logged in for this option to be available). If you fill in your mailing address information in your profile, we will mail a copy of the magazine to you and we'll also include some prior issues if we have not already sent you them. If you are not already registered on the GPWA website, then just click the "Join GPWA" link above the navigation bar, and follow the "Register Now" link on that page, being sure to provide your mailing address when you register.

UPDATE: All past issues of the GPWA Times Magazine are now available online. Just click on the following link to see the eighth issue:

We send them all around the world, and of course that includes Costa Rica. In fact, the vast majority of the issues we mail out are sent overseas. Just make sure we have your address information properly recorded as noted at the end of my initial post in this thread.

Is this the 1st issue since the fall? I have not received a mag since the issue that was at CAP Euro.

With the look of the Cover Page, GPWA Magazine sure is becoming trendy and updated with the latest technology. 3D Casinos huh?

I can't wait to read the article about it.

GPWA and trendy no offence the 2 do not go together, i see the GPWA as the nerd the provides you all th einformation and support that you need.

I hope that does not offend, but if that is the cover it does look great.

Issue 6 was distributed in Barcelona in the fall. Issue 7 was distributed at the ICE conference in January.

If you fill in your address information as described at the end of the first post in this thread, you will also receive a copy of the prior issue since we do try to send at least the prior issue to new subscribers until we run out.

Well, I be the first to admit that on the nerd-trendy scale I'm pretty solidly on the nerd end of the spectrum, but we do have a few trendy employees, and I pretty much let them have the run of things in terms of the look and feel of the magazine. I'd just be one too many cook, and the other folks are definitely much better at putting together a magazine than I would ever be.

If you take a look at Issue 8, I think you'll agree that the pages inside the magazine are indeed pretty trendy. And Shaun, I think even you would have to agree Rebecca is no nerd - two of the six pages of her spread about affiliates are in the sample pages.

    Nice job GPWA!

Does anyone know off-hand how many words are on a typical mag page/article or how much space 2,000 words would fill up?

Um, excuse me Shaun, my article is not NERDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haaaa. It's ok, I understand- you are just sad that you were not included this time around. Maybe for June's issue I'll consider including your beautiful face. Just kidding. In all seriousness, one of the reasons why I love our magazine so much is because there really is something for everyone in there- very diverse content and quite a few different personalities are included in each article, advertisement, and interview. See you soon! Becky

This question is actually fairly tricky, because it depends on margins/fonts/font sizes artwork, how many columns of text, etc. At a lot of magazines, 800-900 words would fill up a single page with absolutely no artwork. But that's just a really rough estimate.

That is what I needed to know and answers my question.
