I don't think they're making mugs of affiliates to be honest, I just think they're cancelling their offers as they know a lot of these punters are once a year, will place a bet and if it wins will withdraw the winnings and that will be that. Bonuses are probably a waste of time with 90% of these customers who will just take the bonus and then kick off when they can't withdraw it straight away.

If the bookies are stopping their offers then I go along with that, I'd rather protect my key accounts from once a year customers who will just take any bonus on offer and clear off.
It's fair enough that bookies don't want to take these customers. If they don't offer them a signup bonus then that's fine (I think totally closing registrations is a step too far). The thing I take issue with is lack of communication with us., I don't want to be sending traffic on Saturday to a program that doesn't want it.
Also Bet365 has a brilliant Grand National offer for existing customers which may get me dusting off my wallet

I've got 8 years of data that contradict that. Although it's a popular misconception to be fair.

The once a year punter tag applied when Granny walked down to the bookies in 1974 to place her bet. Now granny is online, she's had a bet on the National and she's now playing bingo every week due to a cross promotion. Another way to put it... how much would you pay to get the email address, postal address and phone number of a UK adult who at one time has displayed an interest in a gambling product?

The majority of bookmakers are canceling offers for one reason only... they know the customers will fly in the door without any offer! that's the attraction of the National.

decided to leave most of the offers as they are and just leave a disclaimer at the top of the homepage

why? well im going out on the **** this afternoon and tomorrow so probably won't have time to remove/amend as and when. That also means I probably won't be in any state sunday to return the site to normal so have the potential of 3-4 days with hardly any content. Sorry, but I aint risking my rankings for the sake of a couple of hours
