That's ridiculous. They used to (or still do) tax poker players on a daily basis and the money is automatically removed from their poker accounts. As a result greek players have to register for big future tournaments if they hit a win in order to reduce their tax liabilities.
I guess they need to recover their debt somehow.

As I am Greek and I follow the whole regulation procedure, all in all the law is very unfair.
The tax is extremely high but there is no company that pays the real amount of tax that it should be paid.
Anyway, about the Greek gambling law the discussion is very long and never ending
