    Default Happy Cheltenham Eve

One of favourite weeks of the year with the Cheltenham Festival.

Any strong fancies for Tuesday's races? Maries Rock in the Mares' Hurdle (4.10pm) for me, backed her on her last race and she looked really strong, fancy she'll ruin the Honeysuckle swansong!

About 6 months ago, in a 'domaining gone mad' 5 minutes, I registered facilevega.com and constitutionhill.co.uk LOL

FacileV blotted his copybook last time out, ran himself into the ground from the front. They'll surely ride differently this time, but a horse that looked potentially to be one of the all-time greats has some big enough question marks now. He could still win a street, but I think Dark Raven has a chance of springing a surprise in the Supreme (currently best-priced 40-1 with 365).

For anyone that doesn't know...there is a horse running tomorrow that might be a once in a lifetime monster. Constitution Hill. I'll be there, and I'm praying he proves it. Just so I can say in 30 years time 'I was there that day'. He's unbackable now at around 3 or 4 to one on...but this isn't about backing a winner, it's about seeing a Champion. A true champion. And knowing you saw it.

I hope State man doesn't spoil the party, but if he does, then maybe he's the monster!

Kim Bailey will have targeted the Ultima with Happygolucky. On the drift to around 16-1, he can go well. Handicap bet of the week for me. Lightly raced this season, he should be bang on the button for this race although it's super-competitive. If he takes this (or runs close enough), he'll probably run in the National (take the 40-1 antepost now, he might be 8-1 fav by this time tomorrow)

Mister Coffey has been targeted at the long distance chase for at least a year. Ran a great race on comeback in Feb, a perfect set up for this race tomorrow (should have won, got caught out by a standing start). I reckon Nicky Henderson thinks he has the winner and he'll be disappointed if he doesn't go close. 10-1 now (was 25-1 antepost for a long time). I have a suspicion Malinello can outrun his current 150-1 in this same race.

But win or lose (as far as the bets go), it doesn't matter. This is the week of the year. The other 51 are just about waiting for the next Festival!!! It's about seeing the best proving they're the best. And long may it continue.
