    Default Harrah's launches online casino

Harrah's Entertainment made news earlier this year when it launched Harrah's Interactive and named Mitch Garber CEO.

According to various reports, Harrah's has finally launched its long-awaited online casino: Caesars Casino Online.

    From Gaming Supermarket:

Caesars Casino Online is a new online casino with many interesting features and games. These include three different types of Blackjack, Roulette, a selection of thirty or so video slots, sixteen slot machines, card and table games including Caribbean poker, 3 card poker, Pai Gow poker, Power Video Poker, Craps, Baccarat, and Casino Hold’em, along with a range of special games and instants.

Caesars is offering a number of promotions. There is a 100% welcome bonus for up to £500. The way in which this works is much simpler than many introductory bonuses. To qualify for the full amount it is necessary to deposit £500. You then need to bet thirty times this amount (£15,000) and once you do then £500 will be credited to your account. You also get Comp points as you play. 1.5 Comp points are awarded for each £10.00 wagered and 150 Comp points can be exchanged for £1.00. (Note that bets placed on Baccarat, Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, and Video Poker do not count for the introductory bonus.)
As of now, Caesars Casino Online isn't accepting players from the U.S. or Germany.

The address is caesarscasino.com. It redirects to the land-based Caesar's Palace page if visited from within the U.S.

U-ffiliates is the affiliate program for Caesars.

I'm getting redirected as well. It's obviously not allowing Canadians to enter the site either. So, no North American players allowed... not much chance of me promoting them.

Birthday boy Vin was able to piece together a quick story about the launch:

Harrah's Interactive Entertainment looks like it has "soft launched" its long-awaited online casino -- and it has a familiar face attached to it.

The new casino is named Caesars Casino Online and bears the unique black and gold Caesars branding.

Caesars Casino Online is powered by Dragonfish and appears to offer a variety of games, including roulette, craps, Caribbean Poker, three-card poker, video poker, video slots and blackjack.

Caesars Casino Online is offering a 100% welcome bonus for up to £500. As of now, it is not accepting players from the U.S. or Germany. Players from the United States are redirected to a page that lists Caesars land-based gaming properties.

It is also offering comp points based on how much players bet. It is not clear if the comp points system will be tied into Harrah's Total Rewards.
U-ffiliates is the casino's affiliate program.

Unfortunately, many of the programs with Canadian offices exclude Canadian players.

Bodog got around this by opening a European branch.

Harrah's needs to elaborate on their excluded countries list... this doesn't quite cut it:
Persons located in certain countries including, but not limited to, the United States of America, Israel and Turkey
I believe someone also mentioned Costa Rica is excluded as well. Oh - and Germany was mentioned too.

Maybe they should just say "we accept players from Great Britain, Russia and some of Europe."

I know that many firms exclude canadians when they have canadian offices, much the same as netherland antilles does dutch people and malta dissallows maltesers!

Well refusing entry to their website via obvious ip blocking sort of covers them there for now i suppose! You only know all this from 3rd hand info really because you are blocked!

Ever thought they not be dissallowing canadians but someone just screwed up there blocked countrys?

Here is another snippet for you:

I'm not really sure where you're going with your post Paul. It's common knowledge that they have offices in Montreal.
The site is owned by Harrah's Interactive, the new subsidiary of the famous group that has been created to handle online ventures headed by ex-Party Gaming chief Mitch Garber and based in Montreal.
Providing a complete list of excluded countries is just common sense and good business.
Affiliates who decide to promote them need to know who they can target don't they?

I am not going anywhere with this terry, just making observations! It may be common knowledge to a canadian that harrahs have offices in Montreal, however, to me, Nope. Why would it be? Knowing where players are blocked from would of be of great interest to me though.

I agree providing a full and complete list would be common sense!

Not that it would be any use to you as you cannot get on there to view it!

TBH blocking countrys in this way makes it bloody hard work for affiliates to promote them that are in countrys that are blocked. Especially when there is little info at uaffiliates about them other than a few banners.

How can you write a review or offer any informed details of them when you cannot even get on their website let alone play. A recipe for plenty of copyright issues imo when webmasters in blocked countrys start looking around for details to write.

    I agree Matt,

It appears that Harrahs didn't do very good research before launching.

If they had they would have investigated the affiliate side of things and they would have discovered the GPWA as well as a few of the other forums (like the GIA LOL)....but by doing so they would have discovered the displeasure surrounding U-ffiliates with affiliates and may not have been so suceptable to whatever smooth-talking they did to put a deal together with them.

I understand they may have wanted to partner with a group that had experience in the casino affiliate industry, but by partnering with a group that already has a "less than stellar" standing in the community will be a very difficult mountain to climb.

I think they will discover this once they get the cold reception from a number of us like I suspect will happen.
