Default Harvard prof trying to save the world by setting up "global poker society"

Charles Nesson, a professor at Harvard Law school, thinks that the way to solve the world's problems is to teach everyone to play poker. He wants to set up "global poker strategic thinking societies."

The societies will set up poker workshops at schools, sponsor university poker matches and develop an online poker curriculum for any institution that wishes to use it.

    ...

“As far as I’m concerned, it would be a better world if we all played poker,” Prof Nesson said.
An interesting theory ... what do you think? Would the world be a better place if everybody played poker?

Default This one would be better...

But since it's so morally wrong to gamble...the next life would be awful because according to Frist in others...we'd all be in hell!

This professor guy rocks. I'd take his class anyday...even if it was one of those god awful before noon college classes.

i agree with mclane - this professor rocks! i wish i could have had him in college. the world would be better off if everyone did so many different things. the problem is, we live in a world where you cant get everyone to do the same thing. there will always be opposing views

    Default Agreed

We do live in that world Mr. Fish and I think that's a good thing. I like opposing views and I think that's what makes the world progress and get stronger. The problem is, people are intolerant of different views to the point where they actually TELL other people how to live. For sure there are some basic tenants we all need to live by - no murder, protection of children ect...but when it comes to gray area morality, like gambling, I think things are better left up to the individual. If you think gambling and poker is wrong...DON'T PLAY. But please, mr. and mrs. congress types, stop protecting me from playing a silly little game. If i take it too far and get addicted, well then, that's may fault isn't it?
