I actually work as a paid search professional whilst being an affiliate in my spare time. Paid search is great for almost every industry EXCEPT gambling.

Even with my knowledge of adwords and paid social, it's just not economically viable - especially in terms of sports betting.

Just a question of how much money brings a depositor in his player lifetime or not? If he has a value of €300 and you can buy him for €200 seems that economical.

Unfortunately in my experience the cost of bringing a player to your site, getting him to click a link, convert and bet regularly is just too large.

Maybe a site with a better conversion rate than mine would be able to make it profitable but I think it's a select few that can do this.

No, I haven't. As much as I want to give it a try I can't invest my money on such thing.
Besides, I think I'm doing good organically..
On the other hand, I still want to give it a try especially with social media.
But if ever, I want to have leads too.

My main traffic source is from PPC (Adwords). There are some crazy prices for keywords but if you think outside the box a bit there are still plenty of bargains.

I only ever bid 1p for clicks and can receiving 100's (sometimes 1000's) of clicks a day with plenty of sign ups/ depositors.

Mind me asking what industry you're using PPC for? Sports betting/casino/other?

Hi Jim, There's nothing too intriguing. Away from gambling I also do affiliate marketing for verticals including travel and it is certainty easier to get bigger number of clicks at a cheaper rate for sports than it is for travel.

Basically to get cheaper clicks you need to optimise you pages, your conversions, your ad content etc etc and do it better than your competitors. For most people they go after 'ever green' search so that people are searching for it time and time again and over a long period of time. That allows them to constantly tweak their campaigns and allow them to get the best value.

In the sports betting arena their is simply too much money to be made so some one will all ways be able to out bid your for these 'ever green' keywords. Where I find the value is for keywords that are popular for a short period of time but but are popular time and time again.

So for example, I do a lot of work in Rugby and know that people will be searching for terms such as NRL or Super League a lot but these are also 'ever green' terms that people search for over the whole season, giving people time to set up and optimise campaigns.

I go after keywords around matches or events such as the World Club Series/Challenge that is happening this weekend. Yes it will only last for 3 days this year but it will be back next season and there are millions of people watching on Sky and with 3 sell outs it shows the huge interest so I know people will be looking online for information and betting related stuff. I can target the sort of phrases that I know get search and that convert for events such as these and get it set up.

You need to know what works, what doesn't, how the get the content up and how to convert. Once you have a 'system' set up, you can replicate it for numerous events and matches.

I don't think that 7search, the old findwhat or the majority of them are scams in themselves.

The scam happens due to scumbag affiliates that cheat and click heir own links, use proxies and click their own links, and hire others to do the same things.

Then there is also those who use the search links in the pay-to-read email scams which kinda fits into the same category of hiring others to click the link. In this scenario it is much more difficult to prove since the clicks appear more real since they will not follow the same geographic details or time details etc and appear more legitimate on the surface.

Edited to add: However, in the above scenarios, the outcome is still that the advertiser is scammed out of a portion of their funds due to fraudulent clicks.

I paid three times.. it was my personal funny experience because after I`d made it first I promised myself not to do it for the second time..but finally paid for second and third.. and that`s all.. because all these manipulations didnt bring any weighty benefits

Yes, paid for TV commercial.. few years back, in a local TV.
It would be +EV, but Aff's manager did confiscate the earnings..
It's due to Aff's manual is "build up slowly, the old school way"
Anything extraordinary is prohibited since it is suspicious and traffic in bad faith..

Tried some Facebook shares and tweets pack and although i did get a generous traffic boost (like thousands of more views) they were really worthless. They just dropped the avg. time / visitor at 00:03 seconds(in Analytics)... A bad choice honestly. 0 clicks, 0 referrals, pure nothing!
