In November Google introduced a new experimental search console speed report. You can see the announcement in Google Webmaster Central Blog here:
Get faster with the new Speed report in Search Console
The new experimental report classifies urls as "Fast", "Moderate", and "Slow". The data is based on the Chrome User Experience Report, which provides user experience metrics for how real-world Chrome users experience popular destinations on the web.
We all know that Google considers the response times of pages and sites to be a relevant signal used to help determine how highly a page should be ranked in search results, so I expect that as this report evolves and becomes better over time, it will be a helpful tool for webmasters looking to understand how Google views the performance of their sites, and where effort might be best spent.
For this week's poll, I ask if you have seen the new report.
Besides voting in the poll, be sure to share your thoughts. My own observation is that a site needs to have a decent amount of traffic before interesting results are reported.
For example, on the GPWA website, 360 pages were reported as slow on December 2nd, and 1,888 pages were reported as being of moderate speed on a mobile device. On a desktop device on December 2nd, no pages were reported as slow and 2,344 pages were reported as moderate.
