Twitter continues to take steps that have alienated its users. Most recently it limited the number of tweets that can be viewed. Search Engine Land ran an article this Monday titled "Twitter didn't just block unregistered users, in blocked Google Search". According to that article, last Friday just after Twitter blocked unregistered users, the Google search "site:twitter.com" stated there were 471 million search results. When the story was published on Monday, that had dropped to 180 million results. Although who knows, I just tried the same search and got 1.24 billion results.
In the wake of Twitter turmoil, Meta is releasing its "Threads" alternative to Twitter tomorrow. Here are a couple articles about that launch:
The Guardian: Instagram’s Threads app to launch 6 July amid mass backlash against Elon Musk’s Twitter.
Search Engine Land: Threads, Meta’s Twitter alternative, to launch tomorrow.
Other alternatives have also emerged. Hear are a couple of articles about leading contenders published by TechCrunch:

Jack Dorsey-backed Twitter alternative Bluesky hits the App Store as an invite-only app (former Twitter co-creator and CEO)
For this week's poll I ask if you have, or plan to consider using any of these or other Twitter alternatives. Besides voting in the poll, please share your thoughts about Twitter and the competition that seems to be heating up.
