Jamie here.
I'm new to casino affiliate marketing, based in Australia, and eager to begin. My background is in hobby website development and monetization.
What's the best way to get started? Are there specific laws in Australia regarding casino affiliate promotion?
Have a read through the posts and threads here at the GPWA, and be willing to work at it.
And yes most geo's have laws and restrictions, the search here at the GPWA can be your friend.

Hi Jamie, and welcome!
Hello, Jamie and welcome to this amazing, GPWA forum. Follow the advice of Rick and you'll find the answers you're looking for. Don't hesitate to ask any questions.
Thank you for replying. I'll start with going through the threads.
Hi, and welcome to the GPWA! There are, of course, rules specific to each geo. I don’t know if you chose Australia automatically because you live there, but keep in mind that you can select other geos (nothing wrong with Australia), which could be more profitable depending on what you want to do.
As Rick mentioned, you have a ton of information here, so take your time and start reading. You will also find many people in the forum eager to help, so don’t hesitate to ask your questions, no matter how basic you think they are. Best of luck.
Welcome, Jamie! 👋Quote:

Yes, Australia has specific restrictions under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA) — mainly, it prohibits promoting online casinos to Australian residents unless the operator holds a local license. So if you're based in AU, it’s smart to look beyond your home market.
I agree with what @NoDepositCasinos said — you don’t have to limit yourself to Australia. A lot of affiliates I work with are seeing strong results in regions like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, and various parts of Africa. These geos are growing fast, and offer great testing ground.
Feel free to explore the forum — lots of helpful threads here. And if you ever need guidance or just want to understand what’s working in different regions, happy to share insights.
Just because you live in Australia doesn't stop you from operating in other markets as well/instead.
Australia is a very profitable market, but keep in mind also that you most likely have to promote unregulated casinos there as there are pretty strict regulations.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding the Australian market! I've been operating there and has been working great.
