Number one - you gotta research your industry. You've come to the right place for that one Do some reading, learn who is who in this industry - which casinos are good to promote - who is going to rip you off. There's lot of good info in the public forums although it may take you a lifetime to get thru it

    thanks Pam,

I've been doing a lot of reading on this board for the past few days...
I just finally thougt it would be good to signup today and start asking some questions...
I've lloked into some casinos that look promsing and I"ve also been reading about the ones that are giving webmasters grief So I'll steer clear of those..
I'm gonna register a website tomorrow and build a portal....
the next thing is to get traffic to it....
Are there any places where i can purchase traffic or where I can link my site to to trade with.
I guess itwould be tweaking the site from that point.

Please correct me if there's anything I need correcting on.

    thanks again,
    chuck

    UK,

This isn't the easiest industry to get started in, but if you're prepared to put the time and effot into it it can be very rewarding. It takes a real commitment from you to keep the work going, but if you can do this you can go far.

Feel free to post the list of casinos you're considering and I'm sure we can give you the low down on them.

Picking a domain name is a big step as it can be quite important in how well your site ranks on the search engines. Read some of the many articles out there before you register a domain name. Having good keywords in there can really help.

    Hope this helps!

    Welcome UKGambler,

as Pam said.. research is the key.. This is also the part of the job that never stops. Even the most successful portal continously has to do research to keep up to date.

Once you have decided on your domain name and finished your design, traffic will be your next step. Buying traffic is an option and there are some great sources for that from a few GPWA members.
Search engines and Pay per Click engines are also an option.. Do a search for them here and you will come up with a bunch of info.

Good luck and keep asking questions

    Cheers

Of the programs you list above I only have experience of WindowsCasino. Some members have reported a very high level of chargebacks (when a credit card transaction is cancelled and funds retrieved from the casino, you lose a chunk of your profits back when this happens). I personally no longer market them. However some members also report that they make good money with them.

I would recommend the following programs to you:

Casino Paycheck (run by a former GPWA member at www.casinopaycheck.com)
    Casino Tropez (at http://adv.casinotropez.com)
    Referback (at www.referback.com)
    Casino Coins (at www.casinocoins.com)
    Casino Rewards (at http://affiliate.casinorewards.com)

These programs are a few options to start with. Have a look at them and see what you think. Hope this helps!

    thanks guys...

I definitely have the time to do things right now....
I've been looking into some domain names also..
After the site's been put up, where can i acquire traffic.
Where can i get buy traffic and also submit the site to to hopefully get some targetted traffic...
I've seen a link that says it will give me 5000 unique hits for $32..
    is it worth it.

    also,
I'm building a portal and would like to know how many casinos I should signup with to add to the portal.
I see a lot of the protals have reviews, should I leave that portion out since this is my first site.

    thanks

    Hi UK,

Concentrate on getting a good site online to start with and then once completed start thinking about promotion. The GPWA members Wild Bill and Chad sell good targeted traffic (you can contact the using the member list link from the top of the forum pages).

'Targeted traffic' is one of the biggest scams online, the general rule is that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I haven't yet bought traffic from either Wild Bill or Chad but have heard good things about both sources. Steer clear of the '2million ads for $25' deals as the traffic is either very poor or it is faked hits.
