Smile Hi Everyone, nice to meet you! CPM advertising question.

Greetings, nice to e-meet you everybody!

I'm new here, I've been reading this forum for about 2 months, and finally decided to post a question myself.

I'm a media seller at commercial ad network, specializing on selling pop-under traffic on file-sharing verticals. I have switched my company's collaboration from RevShare to CPM with several gambling companies, however some of them are not willing to switch from one model to the other.

It is strange for me, because I know that in terms of RevShare a gambling website can lose less money on advertising and user-base generating, then in terms of simple CPM buying.

Does anyone know why some betting companies behave this way, as if they are not even a bit interested in collaborating on direct buying-selling?

Has anyone encountered the same obstacle?

I think this trend will increase over time.

The true "pay-for-performance" is rev-share since they want players and by only paying on players recieved they insure they are only paying for traffic that is converting for them.

Thanks for the response. Do you think it is normal for a network to work on a revshare basis with gamblings/bettings? We have started such collaboration 3 weeks ago and the results are interesting, like giving about 400 000 impressions with pop-unders leads to 25 registrations, with about 17-19 depositors. I really like the registered user - depositor ratio, so what is definitely clear is that there is no reason to work on CPL base, at least CPA will do and Revshare is better. But what happens within the revshare is when you bring pop-unders, the affiliate network may block you, because you bring too much "clicks" generating too much cookies. So bringing users with pops can cause troubles unfortunately.

If you are upfront with the programs straight away and tell them the sort of traffic that you intend on bringing and clear it with them first you shouldn't have any issues

This is exactly what I do, our network is quite transparent, that I even reveal the websites, where the campaigns will run, the precise daily volumes, that will be delivered, predictions on the change of rates by country. I give advice on what exact landing performs best of all, or what competitors' landings perform better, and still very often meet with disinterest. I guess, the answer is positive, but I'm not sure..
