Question How did the second quarter of 2010 compare with the first quarter of 2010 for you?

The second quarter of 2010 ended this past week, so it is now time to ask our periodic question to members about how the revenue they are earning has changed over the last quarter.

If you compare revenue from the second quarter of 2010 (April to June) to revenue from the first quarter of 2010 (January to March), how did it change? Did it get better, stay the same, or get worse for you?

And posts about your thoughts for the changes you have seen and your view of what the future holds are welcome. How much do you think the changes you saw between the two quarters is due to general economic conditions, how much is related to seasonal fluctuations, and how much is related to changes in what you are doing?

I'm bumping this poll because there have not been many votes yet (there have been four thusfar). So far everyone that has voted has said their revenue dropped in the second quarter of 2010 versus the first quarter.

Is that the common experience, or did anyone do better? How about folks that focus on sports betting? I could imagine the focus on the world cup that began in June might have shifted more folks that moved around in the nature of their gambling from other activities to sports betting. If that was then case then other affiliates might see a decline and sports betting affiliates an increase.

Anyway, please share you results with your fellow webmasters and your thoughts about why your results changed in the way they did.

In the case of Casino City, we saw a 5.5% decline between the first and second quarter, so I selected down between 5% and 10%. We don't focus on sports betting, so in general I'm expecting the world cup to hurt our business while it is going on.

My revenue grew by approximately 15%. I'm looking for bigger growth in the last half of the year due to the addition of several new sites in my portfolio.

Done poorly, way down. Might be though because of spending more time with school work, and not much on the sites.

I voted year over year (2Q 2009 vs 2Q 2010). Being in sports, 2Q is usually disappointing. Spring fever hits. And I never do as well on MLB and NHL and NBA playoffs as college basketball or football (pro/college).

Business is down... hopefully some changes I've made will increase my traffic and conversions. Right now I'm living on existing player bases - the fresh blood isnt paying the bills!

I took a bit of a pasting both in revenue and traffic. Already seeing the effect of the World Cup winding down and traffic is back up this last few days so hoping that continues. My sites are only small in the first place though.

I have seen some pretty big drops. I haven't worked out the actual percentage, but I know there is a drop because for the first time in years I am actually looking at the price of something before I buy it!!!
