Default How did you begin your keyword strategy?

    Dear GPWA.
I have started to analyze all keywords with a strategy:
    a) Self-generate keywords which closest to each category.
    b) Use tools to analyze the keywords thought in step “a”.
    c) Collect keywords that are better than "Self-generate keywords".
    d) Try searching with the better keywords found in step "c" to find the main competing websites.
    e) Use tools to analyze competitors and find keywords that match the topic of your website.
    f) Done.
What do you think about my above strategy? Is it right?

    Hello!

    The strategy is good.

I may suggest you to make Content Gap with a few main competitors + go to GSC to check new keywords you rank for but you don't have relevant pages on the website.

    You're doing it right imho!
Speaking about me, usually, I use ahrefs fo that. But for the last few projects I also did manual research from the data I got from the GSC.

Content Gap solution you have in Ahrefs and you can test it.

Use tools and finr thei keywords it's probably the best solution if you don't have your own idea.
If you have your own ideas, find new kewyrods opportunities in Keyword tools like Ahrefs, Kwfinder or other.

I beleive the best is mix those 2 strategies and remove duplicates keywords.

If you have already list of keywords, then you need to group them with similair content and now you need to choose one of this strategies:

    1. Go with more competitive keywords first
    2. Go with less cometitive keywords firt
    3. Go with less competitive keywords(long tail) and remember about more competitive creating 10 posts less comptetitve to 1-2 more compettive

No matter which strategy you choose, the best is start with one group (category) of keywords and after filling this category lot of pots, take another.

Making a lot of similar posts with similar keywords can be suggested as cannibalisation, for which you can get even lower positions in Google. So be careful with that.

Again, for better results better use Ahrefs, look at the TOP competitors and you can check their relevant pages and keywords - try to build something similar, but still unique (this is the most tricky part).
