Question How has the UIGEA affected December affiliate revenue?

Since there was a lot of turmoil in the industry during the month of October with a significant number of online gaming sites withdrawing from the US market in the wake of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. I thought it would be interesting to find out how the changes have impacted overall revenue earned by affiliates. We ran a poll at that time, and got some interesting feedback about how the change was effecting portal webmasters. You can see the poll and the thread at https://www.gpwa.org/forum/how-has-uigea-affected-october-affiliate-revenue-168495.html.

In that thread, a number of portal webmasters expressed the view that the bad effect would really not be felt in full until November. And so I agreed to run a similar poll again then. You can see the poll and thread for November at https://www.gpwa.org/forum/how-has-uigea-affected-november-affiliate-revenue-168738.html.

I thought it would be interesting to continue with a similar poll for the month of December. So here goes. I will be giving my thoughts on what is shown by these polls, as well as my general thoughts about how the industry has changed when I speak at the CAP Euro conference later this month.

When Golden Palace sold my biggest players to Golden Casino, they spent the rest of their balance and never redeposited. This was a direct result of UIGEA. This resulted in significantly lower revenue for December. Number of new players was down also, although not nearly as dramatically.

This does not speak to the poll which compares December with September, but to a comparison of revenue from December of last year.

Last year's December income for me was underwhelming, to say the least.

This year's turned out 13 times better and I'm so pleased I feel like one of those puppies who wag their whole body so hard you wonder why they don't get internal injuries

This was without Blasters, which was an important account for me. I'll be taking them down. I had to ask myself if I would have listed Golden Casino without the referral from CB and there just wasn't enough to offer.

I think the holidays were more of a factor for me. Definately up from last December though.
