How long did it take for you to start making money as affilate?

Hi,

I started a affilate for casino for markting the swedish audience a few weeks ago, as a beginner. New to this business.

I have started off a website and are trying to do this low budget, by learing and using SEO for my traffic. I wish to avoid huge ads cost, at least in the beginning.

My question to you guys is how long did it take for you from starting your website for affilate. And also, is reasonable to recieve sucess without ads?

Obviously you can do without ads, if you mean FB and PPC and such. That's part of SEO.
However, from checking your site, you have only 2 pages. You need content to get ranked.

Also, seems you placing links to casinos individually each time. That will create a lot of work and make it pretty much impossible to update later. Do some redirect so you can just update the link in one place and it will update that casino in all locations.

I have been grinding out for a year now. Not making as much as expected. A friend though, who targets the Swedish market was beginning to make good money after 7-8 months. The most from unregulated casinos.

Took a few months before I saw anything, then a few more months of next to nothing but at least it showed some promise (I'm talking maybe $100 earned in say month 5). Still if one was to equate the time invested to the money made at that point (about 7-8 months in) a lot of people would have dropped it and said screw this.

Stuck with it, and there was a definite uptick in volume and revenue. When you are on month 7 and have made a few hundred it sure feels like it's all for nothing, fast forward a few months and it's gone up exponentially it's pretty rewarding. Of course this was just my experience, could go lots of different ways.

To me it takes exactly 3 months and 7 days to earn first 0,56€ since I bought web hosting. To receive first money took another two months. It is also matter of luck a little bit on the beginning.

It's good to check older threads, but the game has changed quite a lot in the last years in terms of getting traffic.
You will see conversions/commissions as long as you get/send traffic.

Getting trust (and traffic) from Google is now something that takes years. You can get SOME traffic quickly, but it won't convert. I am talking about English traffic and sportsbooks. I won't expect to make any good money in the first year, maybe one year and a half. Serious money comes after 3-4 years of sending customers every day - serious means from xx,xxx to xxx,xxx/year. Of course, you can be unlucky and get some smart players and it can be a horror scenario if you are at the beginning.

My only experience with casino traffic was a blackhat campaign in Bing (last year) which lasted for 3 months. I got top positions for some searches related to casinos in the US. Not much traffic but it did convert. The figures were much better than in sports: from around 30 signups I got 3 depositing and a profit of $1000 ($200 last year, $800 this year). That's all I can say about casinos. It was more like an experiment because it was so easy to "crack" Bing, but not anymore.

Work hard, be smart, believe in your goals, don't rule out blackhat tactics where you see an opportunity (but again, be smart) and it will come.

I wouldn't say it has to do with luck. A lot of patience, hard work, and an acceptable budget are the keys to success and to earn some money. You really need a lot of patience to really get to where things are starting to get interesting. Especially for new affiliates.

It took me 3 months to have the first income of 20 $, then step by step things came and turned onto a good income.

You have to be patient and not expect miracles in the first 18 months.

It is about : reading, testing and willing to strive and success in long run, not to waste time and efforts, expecting amazing ROI in the beginning.

If you push hard and work every day and do your project plan properly, while keeping costs as little as possible - it is quite realistic to expect that you will break even after the 6 months of operations. experience and contacts in the industry will also greatly help as you will not have to build relationships from scratch.

It really depends on your marketing skills and budget.
Swedish market is one of the most expensive I've been analyzing
