Despite being a rugby player i never broke any. Mine seem to be fairly flexible, or i didn't try hard enough! With that said, i can't walk a straight line, and many of the joints are struggling!!

Broke my ankle playing football as a kid. Had never been injured before so carried on playing.

Dodgy ankles for life since then!

I once (when I was 15 years old) fell from a high basket of basketball after I claimed on it just for fun, the problem is that I fell right once I reached the top and right on my a**!! It was extremely painful, I could barely walk but fortunately no bone was broken, I also had a bike accident with a car but it was on low speed so after flying about 3-5 meters on the grown I ended up with lots of pain which lasted for 2 weeks but no broken bones.

I have only broken my ankle. Broke it in a scooter accident day two of a two week vacation in Mykonos, Greece. Spent two weeks on crutches.

I fell from a ladder about a month ago and ended up with this beauty as a result:

Broke both the tibia and fibula.

After I hit the ground, my foot and the smaller portions of those bones were perpendicular to my leg so I knew it was bad, but with the adrenaline running and in complete horror of that sight I straightened it out, which I think is what a lot of people would have done. However, because I did this, the people at the hospital weren't sure how severe the injury was and the x-rays were absolute torture as a result.

Once the E.R. doctor saw the x-rays, she called in the trauma surgeon, but while we waited for the surgeon the doctor needed to align the bones as best she could by basically pulling down on my foot until the bones matched up (also torture as the pain medicine they were giving me wasn't really working).

Had surgery that evening and ended up with a rod going from my knee to my ankle that'll be with me for life.

The rod is in the tibia, which is the bone that bears the most weight. They just left the fibula to heal on its own (hence why it's still shattered in the second picture).

At a follow-up visit with the surgeon, he asked if they could train a new person on how to remove stitches, which was fine with me. After he showed the new person how to take the stitches out, he realized he was making her uncomfortable so he stepped back to his computer to let her take the rest of the stitches out on her own. She asked me if what she was doing hurt and I said not at all. But when she was almost finished, I jerked my leg away and screeched in pain, which caused her to jump back and the surgeon and one of his assistants rushed over to see what happened. I burst out laughing and once the surgeon and his assistant realized I was just joking around they thought it was the best thing in the world. The poor girl who was taking out the stitches on the other hand said she was shaking and sweating after, but it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Excellent....she probably won't be nervous any more, although, I am not sure you should let her near you with sharp instruments during subsequent follow up visits, but otherwise good training LOL
