Default How Many Brands do you Promote?

Personally I find it hard to keep the number of brands I want to represent to a meaningful level. I know as I browse the web sometimes to many choices can be overwhelming and become meaningless.

With that said how many different brands do you promote on your website? Whether it be poker, casino, bingo etc, just curious what others feel is the somewhat optimal number.

I try to promote as many decent brands as possible. When I say decent brands, I mean profitable affiliate programs that have a good payment history. Promoting a small number of affiliate programs is like putting all of your eggs in one basket. All you'd need is for a few to close down and a few others to turn rogue, then you'd really be up the creek without a paddle.

while we list practically ALL brands, we promote about 10 at any given moment. one can easily find 10 quality brands to feel comfortable recommending. of course the more markets we enter the more brands we find for each market, be it different types of gambling or localized country sites.

As many good ones. By good I mean that they are treating both affiliates and players properly.

Compared to some affiliates that look only what gets into their pockets I try to really recommend the best ones and promote them properly on my sites.

I try and keep to about 10 per site, but that 10 can change from site to site depending on what the focus of the site is.

However, I probably only push 5-6 rooms hard.

Agree! If they screw affiliates they'll most likely screw players, and vice versa.

I suppose, if that works. But doesn't it give an impression of too few, and therefore no choice? In my opinion - as a user, say - a middle ground must be found of not too many (indiscriminatory) and not too few (not enough). But whatever works for you, I suppose.

Personally I try to keep the homepage around 5 but over the course of a few months I have about 15 different reviews that I could list. More than 10 just seems like to much to me. Things just seem to get "lost".

Casino City works with a very large number of brands. But within a specific game vertical (casino, poker, sports betting, bingo, etc.) and for visitors from a specific geographic area, we generally feature three brands above all the rest. That way the list of specifically recommended sites for a specific visitor in a specific vertical is not very large even though across all verticals and all visitors the number of brands is very large.

I really like the way casino city pops up alternative suggestions when you click a site - might have to steal that idea in the future

Personally for me it depends on the site. Some of my bonus-orientated sites list a hundred or so brands (and growing) between the different sections, whilst my 'guide' sites will list far less, usually somewhere in the range of 10-15.

Sometimes it will be limited by the needs of the site - for example I have a roulette site that, with the exception of one I added to give US players somewhere to go, only lists casinos that have decent bonuses to play roulette with (ie: not 300x WR), and there aren't that many of those to choose from.

So... can I pick all the options?

Just as an addendum... having said that, I tend to only 'feature' 3-5 brands on a site, although which ones I choose will often get rotated based on what's been going on.

3 brands receive most of the traffic, to split risks. Other 4 to 5 - for people to have the choice. First 3 should be different affiliate programs.

I have promote about 15 in total - some sites cater to different games/markets so hence the variation.

However, I receive 75%+ of my commissions from 5/6 brands
