Question How many days will you take off from work this holiday season?

The holiday season is about to begin. In the states it begins tomorrow with Thanksgiving. Around the world a number of holidays are coming up. This year Hanukkah begins on December 10th and runs through December 18th. Christmas is on December 25th as is the Chinese New Year. And Boxing Day is December 26th. And there is New Year's Eve on December 31st.

For this week's poll I ask how many days you expect to take off from work during the upcoming holiday season. Besides voting in the poll, be sure to share how you will be spending the time you take off.

Hard to take time off as in a full day when you like to do some work, but Ill try for at least 2 days of hands off, but lots of very short days.

Plan is for around 9 days from the 24th Dec to 1st Jan inclusive, although there'll still be logging in to check stats and ensure there's no urgent compliance issues that need to be dealt with.

Here in the UK the rules around movement and household gatherings are being relaxed a little from the 23rd-27th December so will aim to see family during that period.

I don't really plan days off, usually I always do something here and there. But on Christmas and my mothers birthday I will probably not do much, I choose 2 days.

I think 3 days, Christmas, 31st of Dec and 1st of Jan.
I don't have any plans still but maybe will be at home with my gf. Maybe will visit my parents.

I don't think you ever truly have a day off when you run a business but certainly plan to stick to light duties for the holiday period.

I think the holidays are pure nonsense. Most families are distorted, no one likes each other, no once cares about each other. There are rare excpetions, but most of people care just about their asses. For me Christmas theatre is an offensive bullsh1t, where people pretend they like each other through maxing their credit cards.

Thank you, but give me a peace. I will take my psychedelics soon, but since I count it as a work I vote for zero. Also I will spend December in mountains hopefully mostly without signal, but I count it as hard work as well, because ideas emerge from emptiness.

when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own

The Grinch comes to mind when reading your post LOL! You sound like a very bitter man! I for one do not have a family like you describe above, and I am sure many others here don't either!

This is not an attack on you as you are of course entitled to your opinion...But I personally find most of your posts very negative. Even your quote on all your posts

That alone shows you have a very negative outlook on life. It is a shame that you feel that way. Not everyone in the world is bad

No days off for Holiday season - although I just took off 5 days for a trip to Queenstown in mid-November so it is possible. But I'd have to be mad to want to take my holidays during Christmas season.

I'm more like Sherlock than TopBoss in my attitude towards Christmas, although with less vitriol, and so do not seek or attend family gatherings of friend invitations for most holiday season events. I do also find the platitudes and fakery a bit tough to take.

Then there is the mass transit of people, flights packed, roads blocked, frenzied shopping, and mad expectations of some sort of Hollywood film gathering that just seems to cause angst and anxiety for a lot for people who wanted more (strangely mostly female).

My perfect holiday season is a quiet time with my partner at home with some good food, a glass of something tasty, and no urgent tasks.

I do not think I can take days off this Christmas, perhaps increase the time of rest between days. But not much more than that.

Don't plan on taking any days off this holiday season. Always lots of work to do and I actually really enjoy the work.

Some may not be full days working and will take some time to relax.

As others mentioned above, I will not take days off, maybe just some time off during the day, but will be working.
