Question How many regulatory jurisdiction's requirements do you monitor and act on directly?

As a gaming affiliate, we constantly receive notices from affiliate programs regarding changes we must make in order to comply with current regulatory requirements. Typically, we must promptly comply with the affiliate program’s view of requirements in order to maintain our affiliate relationship. Even in the best of circumstances the process can be frustrating because of the volume of changes needed and the tight timeframes that are common. On occasion it is even more frustrating, because sometimes different programs have different views of what a jurisdiction requires. And I’ve even been involved in situations where I knew the actual requirements were different than what the affiliate program demanded, but that didn’t alter the fact that the affiliate program required their rules be followed anyway.

For today’s poll question I ask about the extent to which your compliance-oriented activities are based on responding to request from affiliate programs versus the extent to what your compliance-oriented activities are based on tracking and understanding the compliance requirements of a jurisdiction, and making changes to comply with jurisdiction requirements even without being prompted by affiliate programs you work with.

This topic is on my mind because of the letter the GPWA received from the Slovak Republic Gambling Regulation Office this past week. You can read my announcement about that letter here:

For this week’s poll I ask how many different jurisdiction’s requirements you try to understand and follow independently of notices you receive from affiliate programs.

Besides voting in the poll, I Invite you to share in a post the jurisdictions you monitor, and any thoughts you have about complying with jurisdiction regulatory requirements.

Casino City proactively monitors regulatory requirements in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and takes action when appropriate independently of compliance requests from affiliate programs, so I checked the third poll option that proactively monitor and act on requirements in two jurisdictions.

In addition, we will also respond to regulatory requirements in other countries when we become aware of them. For example, we have made changes in Sweden based on our knowing there were some new regulatory requirements even though we had not yet been notified by any affiliate programs that actions were necessary.
