How many sites do you work on?

Hi,

I launched my first site a bit under a year ago with no real expectations at all and it seems to be doing way better, that I could have thought it would be. So now I was thinking of starting a new one targeting a different region.
Just out of curiosity (perhaps might this might be interesting to others as well) I thought I'd ask how do people, who manage several sites cope with it. There is a large number of quite time consuming things to keep track of and work on.
Do you manage both (or more) of your sites solo?
Do you regularly produce new content and update existing content on all of your sites?
Do you produce new content by yourself?

And generally any other bits and pieces of wisdom anyone has to share in regards to managing several affiliate site projects at the same time :)

Hi Paul, I manage a handful of sites (along with another family member of mine) which get updated on a regular basis. We both update existing content and replace any banners and text links if they're not working, are outdated, or there are newer and better offers that are readily available to our players to use instead.

Currently I am managing two sites. That's more than enough for me, though I have a 9-5 also.
I've heard others managing over 20-30 sites..

Too few.
Too many.
Simultaneously.
Gnashes teeth.

1. We currently manage three sites, but do plan to add more to the portfolio. It's tempting to start a new site whenever you have a good idea, but it's better to first make your existing sites 70-80% finished (you can never go 100% as there are always things to improve) before you start thinking about a new site.

2. No. We have a team of full-time employees who work on the sites, creating content, adding it to WP, sorting out images, links and so on. But, I do take care of the most important things myself.

3. Yes. Once the site is 70-80% finished or even before that, we create a content strategy (i.e. how many articles, slot reviews, news, etc. per week) and we stick to it. Owning casino affiliate websites is a never-ending work, but the amount required for regular updates depend greatly on the main topic of your site, which vertical (casino, sports betting, poker, bingo...) and few other things.

4. Not any more. I did in the beginning, but now have a team of experienced casino writers who create new content for our websites.

As I said, you can easily be tempted to start work on new sites (I know I am), but think long and hard before taking on new projects, as you also need to ensure your existing websites do not suffer. There are a lot of things to take into consideration here, so I cannot give you a better answer without knowing the specifics.

Well done on a surpassing your expectations! I recommend sticking with one and move up the rankings and converting before spreading yourself over several projects. However, if you have time and resources, go for it!

I own a couple of websites and give full attention to my main one. The other is a side project and long term. I produce 99% of the content for my main site myself.

I don't have time to give attention to more than one. However, I recently launched a website with my brother which I'm excited about on a completely different gambling niche. He produces all the content an I manage the website. This might be a better way to widen reach, collaborate with trusted people.

I work on 5.. but 2 are pretty big.. i focus on the big 3 mainly the others are being built slowly

I'm managing 5. I mean I update each all the time, order content and etc. But overall I have a few more.

But we have a few people in a team and they help me to do this.

Currently I manage 1 website but it has two languages, and feels like I have two websites. I try to produce new content regularly but as this is time consuming it can be up to 15 pages per month. As for updating, I'm looking at my positions, at pages that have views but no clicks and then make the slight changes. Most of the content on the website I produce myself, but sometimes need help with other language version of the website. Hope this helps

One. I already have more new-content ideas than I can execute before I die, on just that one site. One is plenty.

We have two sites. We had 5 but decided to keep only 2 big ones. It takes too much work to take care about so many sites, especially if you have different languages.

More sites = more time = more work = more money to invest and if you're smart and lucky more money to make :)

I think that in general it's good to try new/different concepts when it comes to site look and feel.

Currently we work only one one site, but we're already discussing entering in the new markets which we believe will thrive in the new future and will launch a new site.

Localization is important so we don't want to simply translate the existing site and have it under the same domain, but to create something new.

Also, multi branding strategy is somewhat a good approach. It's a known fact that customers who play on multiple brands, even if those brands belong to the same operator are likely to spend more money as opposed to those who play only on one brand. Same applies to affiliates. You can brand one of your site in one way and another site could be different (i.e. layout, style of communication, images etc.)

But having more sites you need to make sure you have resources to keep content up to date and in general, to work on them.

3 Sites in Brazil

We have a few sites and a solid team behind us. It certainly can be a lot of work even with a team to maintain the sites for accuracy, changing promotions and content. In the end it is still worth the effort.

Since all my sites are SEO-only for traffic, it's not too much work except setting it up to begin with. I currently run 3 affiliate sites (only 1 for casinos), but plan to have at least 6 up and running by summer.

The setup and initial content creation is the most time consuming by far, after that it's just adding an article here and there. Then it's just sitting back, building a couple links per month to maintain your positions. Although essentially it's just sitting and watching the money flow in.

I think a good amount is the number that you can either personally handle or afford to hire people to operate it. It may also depend on the kind of content that it is expected to have.

A few of them with a good team behind it.
