Question How many times have you disavowed links to your site(s)?

The subject of disavowing links using Google search console comes up periodically in GPWA forum discussions. Most recently it was discussed in the following thread: Anyone experienced this penalty after ton of crap?.

Google provides some general guidance on the topic on the following search console help answer page: Disavow backlinks. Fundamentally, to disavow links you need to create a file identifying the pages and websites to be disavowed and then use Google search console to upload those links for use by Google.

So, for this week's poll, please estimate the number of times you have uploaded a disavow file using Google search console. Besides voting in the poll, be sure to share some background information about your use of the tool. What got you started using it in the first place? Have you used it in an attempt to cure an actual problem, and did it work? Do you use it for preventative maintenance? How frequently do you do it?

My site got hacked and injected thousands of spammy urls as well as a lot of other negative tactics. Cleaned the site and basically disavowed any link i did not recognise. I look at monthly on average.

Today I deleted many expired domains from my disavow list and added new ones. It looks like it's going to be one of the many regular things that I'll be doing from now on.

When you disavow your links every 3-5 months, then this is enough. Just add the new China & Friends domains to your old list.

For me it's a miracle, that these mental benighted scapegraces still believe, they can hurt their competitors with bad SEO in the long run.
