Question How many times have you visited Las Vegas?

This week the global gaming expo (G2E) is going on in Las Vegas. It is an amazing site with around 750 exhibitors. And many of the casinos in Las Vegas are a sight to behold. Certainly no place on earth is as associated with Casinos as Las Vegas.

So, for today's poll, I thought it would be interesting to ask how many of us have made it to the location most associated with the gaming industry. And for those of us who have, how many times.

Personally, I've never been here on vacation, just for business attending conferences. But it has still added up to around fifteen times. Every Global Gaming Expo, and the Gaming Congress and Expo conference before that. Plus the Casino Affiliate Convention a number of times when it was held in Vegas and a few other assorted conferences. I think probably 15 times in the last ten years.

In the last 5 years I've attended G2E twice. I've attended the last 4 CAP conferences.

My husband is from Las Vegas so we try to make it there 2 or 3 times a year for vacation being that it's only a 10 hour (2 day) drive.

We have a condo vacation package at the World Mark resort on Las Vegas blvd about 4 miles from the strip casinos, but I prefer playing at the spots downtown. Low stake craps is my weakness. LOL

I have never been in Las Vegas, and I'm not going to visit it in the next few years.

I've never been either. I'd perhaps like to try it in the future but I'm not desperate to go there.

3 times - all for holidays. Do love there, and want to go many more times over the next few years (especially as I should be able to get some businesss trips)

I was there once more than 20 years ago, but not for gambling. I was there for a software conference. I never cared for gambling those days and was really amazed to see people moving in a trance in the basement of the hotel I was staying. One day, I was looking there for a breakfast room and almost collided with a quite old lady. She said: "What's your favourite game?". I said I don't play and she yelled out:"What the hell are you doing here?". I said I am looking for a breakfast room. I think only then she realised that you can also do other things down there other than playing at the slot machines. From then on I know that gambling could be an addiction for young and old.

I usually visit Vegas once a year maybe twice for conferences. Usually I am sponsored making the trip very affordable. Strangely enough after ten visits I have yet to drop any cash on Gambling.

Never been there for strictly a holiday.

Went there once to go to Affiliate Summit..

I loved the place and can't wait to go back. 4 days wasn't long enough though.

I've been twice as a vacation. The first time was with a group of us and we stayed at the old Aladdin. That place was a wreck. We would meet at the bar which we quickly named the "stinky bar" because of the smell. They have since torn it down and rebuilt.

The second time we were comped at Mandalay Bay. It was very nice and we had a great time.

Funny though, I lost at Mandalay but won at the "stinky" place lol.

Been there twice for business and absolutely loved it. Definately going to go back at some point, probably when baby Macey is a bit older.

It's such a cool surreal place and although it may not be to everyones liking it really should be one of the things you do before you kark it (die).

    Love it.

I've been 4 times - all for conferences. But I love it. I love to gamble - even if I'm a strict low-limit guy. Cheap blackjack or craps. Downtown is great - the lights around Fremont street are awesome. I do love the strip - and it is possible to still find $5 BJ, especially on weekdays. Just glad the conferences have always gotten me into clubs - otherwise I'd probably find myself sitting in my room or the casino all night. I also just love walking around the strip, hopping into and out of the casinos, and checking out the scenery . Would love to go back and stay in a nicer hotel with a nice pool area, but it gets expensive really fast. And now that the bikini Bull Riding at New Frontier is gone (and CAC is no longer there [although Mark did say he was going to do a skill gaming thing there next year]) I will probably not visit again for a couple years.

I've owned a timeshare in Vegas for a few years now, and honestly I probably go on average once every month or 2, lol. I live in Arizona -- and I'm about 5 or 6 hours away so the drive is simple -- and personally, I've honestly considered it like it's my second home. I get a great rate when I go for a weekend, and I love the action at the poker tables at Mirage, Bellagio, and Venetian personally. The comps and buffets are sweet too.

This year has actually been a downer, since I've only been able to make it out 3 times ....ugh. But I'm making up for it next month when I attend UFC at the end of December, and then I'll be going up again in January with some friends. Gotta get back on track after my slump in '07, heh.

    Default Some day....

I haven't been there yet but plan on making the trip some day. Being from Canada does have it's drawbacks when one wants to play in a real casino. We do have Casino Niagara which is only a couple hours away but it's not quite Vegas.

My friend and associate, Sam O'Connor is a well known poker pro. He plays weekly in Vegas and one of my goals is to hook up with him down there for a weekend of $1/$2 no limit. Sam is the author of "How To Dominate $1 and $2 No Limit Hold'Em". Even though we've never physically met, he's been my "poker" mentor and a good friend for a couple years and he's one of the main reasons I opened The Pokerkeep. We chat online and by telephone regularly but some day I would love to be able to shake his hand and buy him a steak dinner.
