Question How many websites do you run?

Within our industry a network of sites is quite common place. My question is how many different website within the gambling niche do you run? A secondary question would be how are they hosted: shared, dedicated, cloud etc.

    I run 6 main sites.

I have both shared hosting and a VPS. New sites I add will be on the VPS and will have their own IP.

I have between 15-20. Some are not gambling related. I have an ink and toner site and a keurig k cup sites where I get business from word of mouth, friends, family, ext.. I joined go daddy auctions last year and a bit over board so I am getting rid of some domains when they are up for renewal. I see that a lot of people are in the 11-20 slot, that is a lot of sites to manage.

I have two hosting plans in total.

I have 15 sites and most of them are hosted on a dedicated IP. A few of them I share an IP address with but my thinking always was for $1.95 a month I want to make sure I do not get tied up on a server with porn or something like that (not that theres anything wrong with it!) or in a bad neighborhood.

I have on site only. I use several domains (*.com, *.me e.t.c.) but under one brand. And i think, this is the best decision.

I think one or two main site enough. But you need to 10s paravan blogs for seo. I have 2 main website and 54 paravan blogs. If have more main website it will be hard in seo beacuse backlinks will be seperate.

When you say Paravan, do you mean buffer/satellite sites?

I really don`t understand how someone can run 15, 20, 30 sites. I run three sites, one is semi-static (updated every 2 weeks or so), one takes up at least 4 hours a day to raise it at a high level (and I need more time to constantly make it better. the more visitors I have, the more time I need to improve) and the other one is in rebuilding and I don`t know what to do with it because I don`t have time. 30 sites? oh my god. maybe if they are all static, but even so, they need maintainence, constant link building, etc.

As a non-employed entrepreneur, how much can you do in a day? I met many people that had a job 8-9 hours a day and managed like 10-15 websites. Get out of here, they have to be crappy websites. I was always intrigued at how people can run so many portals.

I agree, It is almost impossible. When I say I have 10-15 sites I do not mean that I am working on 10-15 sites everyday. I have some where i do a 301 redirect for pay per click. I have others that are sitting there that I am not going to renew. The ink/toner and coffee just has a landing page. I get business from family and friends with those sites. I am active on managing my review site, poker, basketball, and baseball sites. I have a casino review one but i havent worked on it, I think i am going to get rid of it and make a sub-domain under the poker site. It takes way to much time to manage especially if I write the majority of the content myself

I only have one main site but I have 3 (soon to be 5) satellite sites. I also have a host of Web 2.0 sites that complement my satellite sites.

@edgarf76 yea, I can understand that. but for me, that means you manage 4-5 sites. Like that, I also "manage" 10 websites, but I can`t say that since 7 of them I don`t even update anymore... never.

Another thing which i find very hard in managing multiple websites is focus. 30 different sites, I would go insane and I would be very confused. I manage 2 sites and I still sometimes find myself starting articles in english on my romanian-language one )

30 sites is over the top. Even if they are satelite/buffer sites. Someone said they have over fifty buffer sites. That is still a lot of sites, and a lot of work to get them up.

It seems to be more of a business that people have buffer sites, it looks like they use them for themselves and sell the rest of the ad space. If that is the case, (general question not aimed at anyone) what is the difference of a buffer site and a spam site?

I run 2 websites, one about betting sports and the other about casino and poker.
I will start to work with a friend to another betting site this month. All are in my native language.
Maybe next year I will make a site in english, for UK Market.

We run about 50 sites. We have our main international site and from there we publish in over 40 countries in local languages.

Outsourcing! I rarely write my own content any more and usually buy it all these days.

Anyway, I have a bunch of sites - including static sites, mini sites going after specific keywords, exploratory sites (I often like to check the value and difficulty of a keyword), and of course proper sites that are updated multiple times a week.

I also have a series of 'sleeper sites' that have minimal advertising and zero (or very little) promotion - these are meant as a safety net in case a similar site gets taken down in an update (etc..). The main idea is that they just sit there aging, but you'd be surprised how often they start to pick up traffic on their own.

As for hosting, I spread them around and have multiple shared hosting accounts, plus some cloud hosting and the odd VPS.
