You can earn some good money, it all depends on what time and money your are ready to put into your websites to promote casinos.
This is exactly what time and efforts you are putting to Website and SEO
I think that knowing lots about SEO doesn't necessary mean you´re a good content writer who can captivate an online audience and be successful with converting it to money.
Also I think having the right casino partners can be equally as important, because if the traffic you deliver doesn't have a good User experience then they wont be a long term + profitable earner for you.
Try figure out your Niche and who can look after the traffic you deliver the best!
Good Luck!

If your cashed-up to purchase an already producing site, and funds to hire experienced staff, then you'll make it.
But lets be realistic here. How many newbies have the funds to do this? Simple, not many.
This industry has always rewarded those who, regardless of setbacks, those who don't give up, those who work very hard, can turn their aff business into a very profitable, and rewarding lifestyle.
Quoting a long time casino owner friend: "If it was easy, everyone would be doing it."
Spend enough time on these forums, and you'll see lots of newbies starting out. However, in one (1) year, 95% (if not more) have giving up. Believing their own BS that it's too hard.
IMHO you don't need to be cashed up to make it. You do however need to have passion, and dedication, with a spirit of never giving up, and or listening to anyone telling you your wasting your time![]()

True.
I'm in this business for almost 10 years now, and I can confirm it's possible to make a living from affiliate marketing
But you cannot achieve success in a few weeks or months. You must have a mindset that it will take a long time to become successful (whatever this means for you, might be that you can cover your living expenses for example).
I don't know if you have read the 4 hour workweek. If yes, just memorize this: T4HWW is the result, not the process. The process is putting in many many hours, on evenings, on weekends etc to maybe achieve the result.

Just as AussieDave pointed out, there is still money to be made in the casino affiliate business in spite of the increased competition and numerous lead generation companies pouring money into new websites.
The main point why many new affiliates fail is that they want to make easy money quickly and are not prepared to work hard and also invest some of their own funds for a year or two before starting to see some results.
I spent 7-8 years in the industry before starting my own website, learning a lot along the way, mostly from GPWA members, and that produced good results. I did have the courtesy of investing money from my content writing business into the site, but that was not the reason why the site became a success.
Just saying that people can do it if they've got sufficient knowledge and the right mindset, but newbies should be warned that even with the right strategy, they are unlikely to see any major results in the first 12-18 months.
Nevertheless, keep working hard, keep learning and success should follow.

The BIG problem seems to be, that newbies put the 'cart before the horse', and subsequently, doing this, they are always driven by dollars. Instead, don't worry about the cash, just worry about putting up decent content, which is both informative and of value to site visitors.
Work hard and the money will flow.
Think outside the 'box', don't be a sheep and publish Yet Another WP Cookie Cutter.
Instead, stand out from the crowd with a unique designed site (edit: and memorable Brand, even use an acronym).
Work hard, don't promote every new casino, wait, see if they are trustworthy. With so many affiliate sites around, you may think 'Reputation' doesn't matter, and that signing players up to a casino, any casino, is the key to success... It isn't!
Be careful of promoting too many casinos. I've only ever promoted a handful of 'trusted' venues, they're good to me and my players.
In a few days time, I'll notch up 19 years in this industry. That's got to count for something, hey!
P.S. Various studies (universities etc) have established, it takes approx 10,000 hours to be competent, having the necessary ability, knowledge, or skill to do something successfully. Be this playing guitar, or, and yes, being an igaming affiliate
If you dedicate 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, you'll hit that 10,000 hours in three (3) and a bit years...

A beginner with a good knowledge of SEO and marketing? How does that work huh?
On the topic tho, I'd agree all very abstract. You can be struggling to convert for months or get a big fish on the third day. Anyways, good luck to you, pal.
As a newbie who is 2 years in the business (1 year of not knowing what I am doing, the second year I've learnt a bit) I can say it doesn't make sense to me doing it as a part time job, there has to be at least a period of time when you push it and try to complete a lot of tasks to progress with your websites.
For new peoploe without SEO & marketing knowledge I think it will take at least two years to make $>1k per month, but once you figure it out you can make quite a lot here.
I'm at around $500/month after 2 years of going on and off.
Also variance plays a role - you may hit two big whales from the beginning and receive a steady and big income for you. But you probably just go lucky.
For beginners, going up to 10k is enough.
I think it's important not only to get high rankings in SEO but also to get big betters.
As for affiliate commissions, I think it's important to pay not only revenue sharing but also CPA hybrid commissions.
