Just came across this thread and read through it. It got me wondering whether people's answers have changed after the changes Google has made over the last year...

Nothing much cept that I am glad for the google changes. Its helped me refocus on SEO and in A LOT i mean A LOT of ways SEO is becoming better and I think google is on the right track as far as finding ways to combat. The only problem is google is greedy and at the same time fixing seo they are also harming it by hiding or blocking seo data and trying to force more to use adwords IMO. I am excited though and any help anyone ever needs with SEO just send me a PM. Im a open book and a much better teacher than practical user

    Very good point!
Although links and SEO expenses have been going down for a long time, surely the latest changes by Google have changed this across the board for many webmasters in a more dramatic and final way.

That's true but... Good SEO never dies. If you do it the right way i think that you will never lose your website SEO.

    I disagree...
If google wants what you got... You lost it.

For example... google play/google shopping/google apps and google is now moving into travel. Google is taking over every profitable online niche, one after another.
IMO, As soon as online gambling goes 'mainstream' in the USA google will be all over it and most of us will be pushed out... just like what has happened in other niches.

Too bad they don't see the value in politics.

As corrupt as US politics are, they could step in and take all the money from the special interests just like the politicians, and pretend to "do what the people want" just like the politicians. and then they could....

    LOL

Might as well stop here, that's probably the only niche that the government will stop Google from taking over....

In the other topic https://www.gpwa.org/forum/what-perc...st-210187.html you say that you reinvest 70%. What do you use all that money for if it is not for seo?

I'm not spending any money on SEO right now, but I definitely see myself doing that in the future.

If you don't know much about seo, It's better to read a lot of quality SEO articles and find out which are the best SEO methods and try to do SEO for all your websites, all alone. Read everyday 2-3 hours about it (you can find on internet very good articles about SEO, and it's free) and after 2-3 months (maybe earlier!) you will know much better how to do it. Invest your time instead of wasting your money on SEO workers and PPC ads.
    My opinion!

We are of the same opinion, SEO is strategically key but its best to learn it in house and implement the techniques. Google gives enough advice on what they do and do not look for.

Google says "Create good content". But good content alone won't get you high rankings. You need to create content that people will want to share and link to. And this is where SEO experts can help you.
