(Been a while since I posted, but...)
I joined a local club rugby team a year ago, at that time I was probably my fattest at age 31. As with many others, I was athletic in my younger years but after college, not so much. I was up to 265-275 even with "cardio" and a couple rounds of South Beach diet. I had neglected most sporting activities and weight training for over a decade, however. So, anyway, after starting at 6 out of 10 matches at prop I decided to pick up a barbell again, and in 5 months I lost 25 pounds (using 265 as a baseline). I've kind of hovered at 240-245, mainly because it's not as intense as in-season play but I've also gained some lean mass, as well.

It's a bit of an ego boost, I must say. Especially when the median age of my teammates is about 25 (there are a couple outliers 40+). I also like the fact that I'm getting into rugby at a time when I feel may gain greatly in popularity here in the States. I wish there was a way to profit from it!
