I am an atheïst, but I do respect the Church. I do attend religious ceremonies. Actually I go to the Church almost every sunday. For me it's a place that gives peace, to think about things, etc. I do feel better when i attend regularly. I also try do to Fasting, but a true follower of the people I am not. If I do things or do things not, it is not because it's written in the Bible, but because I have other good arguments to do so or to not do so. F.e. I do not eat pork meat, but not because it is written in Bible that I shouldn't eat it.

I am raised as an atheïst in a catholic area. I red a lot about religion, the history of the church, Jesus, etc. I even can say that I tried to believe, but honestly I do not. Religion is created by man in my opinion.

Excuse me for my bad English.

I'm not religious at all to be honest, there are occasions when I will visit churches but its usually at the request of other people, such as funerals or weddings. Apart from marriage I don't think I would take part in anything religious, even my funeral, I would much prefer a non-religious send off.

Funerals and weddings are the only times I go....religion was shoved down our throat as kids here in Malta, and it seems to have backfired with almost everyone...

I´m total atheist so it´s just weddings and funerals. We (my family) have an invitation to go to me daughters best friends christening next weekend but i wouldn´t dream of it, the wife and daughter will attend but it would be to hypocritical for me.

If people want to believe in god good for them............but its not for me!

I'm training a bit for a pilgrimage which is about 80 kilometres... walking. Most i've walked until now is perhaps a few kilometer. So, I've got some practise to go I guess.

Christenings and weddings is about it and even they pain me. The beliefs behind all religions have absolutely no scientific evidence to support them. Beliefs in superstitions such as these serve no purpose in modern times when we no longer need a creator to explain the origins of the universe.

I was brought up catholic so up to aged 16 I had it drummed into me. Not been to church since, except the odd christening. Not a great fan of organised religion even though I do believe in some form of 'creator', there's a brain washing element to most organised religion that I'm not keen on.

I am taking LSD/mushrooms/XTC 1-3x per year. Sometimes at psytrance party. That is my only spiritual experience and connection to God (ok, maybe it is devil, I think promoting gambling is more evil and I still do it).

Christmas is something I especially avoid although when I was in Europe, because I hate the commercial s**t. I always traveled alone to high mountains during Christmas week and I was walking through entirely empty peaks (not one visitor even by Ski resorts). So peaceful. Then I usually got dreams about Jesus Christ, which was funny.

Interesting you should mention the shrooms. I am also greatly into these sorts of things and do them when I can, I think they open your mind to the bigger picture, I always feel a great connection to nature and to the roots of what is important in life on this planet. Organised religion is not so much on my list of important things.

I think every coin has 2 sides. Anything that alters mind from mushrooms to ideology/religion/mythology is a great tool but really a bad master.

I think taking those substances as a gift is a religion for 21st century. I am not into organised religion as well, but still I understand better people who prey to god via classic ways than to atheists. One of tasks for humanity is - I humbly think - to create a fusion between the old and the new religion. I am / most of us are from Christian culture, there is no doubt about that, but Christianity is stuck with rituals that most Christians (I have met) do not feel in depth. I like "agnostic" interpretation of Christianity by Slavoj Zizek; I love how Japanese culture battles with Christianity in anime movies like Evangelion, FMA etc. Party in nature - it is a postindustrial mass, I can not help myself.

But there is the other dark side. The psychedelic tools are somewhat raw and dangerous. I know I can afford few up and there, for sure not always and only because I work hard. Those things are dangerous for young people lost in this world without knowing their place and who feel hostility of the world and those experiments give them cheap relief. I used to be one of those kids and I jumped on mushrooms from 4th floor, barely survived. I still lose few bones and organs. Same danger is of course any ideology/religion in this erratic world.

There is nothing black or white, imo; the mushrooms or organised religion is not that great as people who practice it think and it is not that horrible as the haters think. It is very important to feel the empathy with the other sides, that has to be a goal of any religion [so yes, RZ, you p**s everyone here off, so do not complain that the doors are shown to you with bullying and rather think twice before you write something; feel the empathy with poor gpwa mods]. Only certain thing is when I receive my monthly payment

Earlier I told i'm atheïst, but i'm more agnost than atheïst. I'm not convinced that there's no God or no greater power that had any influence in creating the whole space we're living in. But I don't believe that much that he wrote some books.

But I do believe in Jesus and Maria and I do respect them very much. I am a proud Catholic, but also an agnost. Lately I'm also visiting the church more. I visited the Church once a week, now almost every day. I am going to make a piligrimage and next year I will attend the lent for 100%.

I think the Church should be more pragmatic. The world is getting more and more religious, but in the west people are running away from the church. I lived in South America and there the church was way more pragmatic than here. I also do like the saints they have there, you see everywhere, etc. It's more a happy thing there instead of a clinical thing like in the West.

I'm the same, I despise the build up to Christmas but it's good to spend a few days with family etc.
I've spent a few Christmases abroad by myself and really enjoyed the experience.

Only go to religious events if I really really have too (I'm atheist) but will defend anyones right to their own religious freedom (as long their beliefs don't impede on my life)
