How often do you change your meta Title and Description?

For me, it depends. If the page is ranking in a satisfactory position and better than our main competitors, I don't see why we should change it. However, if we are looking for a better ranking, then it's always good to perform a routine evaluation.

Once a month is ideal for this review (not necessarily to make changes)!

Usually, I change it when we optimize the page fully, but other than that I do not change them

Maybe one or twice a year if I add some stuff to the article or change the article intent.

I make changes once a year or when necessary due to a google update.
I don't think it's desirable to make changes too often.

Hey all, from what I’ve learned so far, it seems like you don’t need to change meta titles and descriptions too often. Maybe just when you update the content or if the page isn’t performing well. I’ve read that checking them every few months is a good practice, but changing them too much can actually hurt more than help. I change them once every two months.

Let's say your company sells red widgets and blue widgets.

You have a page that shows the numbers that customers prefer the red widgets more then the blue ones. So on this page you write up why that is and rate the red widgets higher in sales and customer preference.

The metas and descriptions should reflect that the page presents that customers prefer red widgets.

If the manufacture makes a change and suddenly due to those changes the blue widget sales start outpacing the red ones, and you change the article to reflect those changes, such as blue ones are now a superior product, there is a special price etc.

Yes I think that would warrant a complete change in metas, desciption etc.

But if the red widgets stay dominant and the page doesn't change, why would you change the metas or description unless it did not properly reflect the content of the page initially?

Personally I like the blue ones better anyway.

I usually set a title and description according to the search words I want to promote. After a period of time, I make a change according to the keywords that I see that have an improvement in position.

I try not to change anymore, because after I change, it takes Google a long time to reflect the change as far as the SERP is concerned. If I change frequently, I will never notice if the changes really have an effect and I will not achieve the desired results.
