ArticleBase has removed the article that I contacted them about. The offender of this blatant attempt at stealing content is an affiliate of Bet365, BetFair, Intertops and a few more. Their author page has a link to their blogger blog.

Guess it is time to contact their affiliate programs.

Bet365 has already suspended this person's affiliate account after I contacted them about the situation. I have messages to the Intertops and BetFair managers explaining the situation as well. I am in the process of emailing all the other programs that this person is an affiliate of as well. I only hope the rest of them take it as serious as Bet365 and act on it immediately.

    Kudos to 365!

I may have a look at promoting them.

More programs should act so quickly about this sort of thing because it is exactly the kind of thing that if not kept in check, ends up providing us with an internet which is saturated with articles which may be SEO worthy, but that don't make any sense (article spinners), not too mention discourages quality writing because as sports pointed out ... is it worth it to bother if they are only going to steal it?

So it begins a candle lit at both ends. One end is pouring in stupid articles while the other end, that writes the intelligent versions, begins to dry up leaving less and less quality content out there to be scraped, so that which does exist gets hit extra hard

leaving the writers feeling just as Sports does .. and it snowballs.

    .....

Hopefully those in a position of power to do something to prevent the above, step up and do so in follow of 365's lead because what can be stepped on now ... could be the avalanche that kills you 6 months from now.

Do the smart thing sponsors. Step on the problem before it gets big enough that it runs you over some time later.

    bb1,

You are exactly right. This could definitely discourage me. However, I enjoy writing these articles and also supply content to a few clients.

Does anyone have a suggestion about monitoring article submitted to directories? Would Google Alerts help in anyway?

I have to also give props to the other directories (uPublish and Article Base) that removed my articles on their site.

This has really been a learning experience, and it is continuing. I check this stuff periodically, but I think I will keep an eye on it a little more now.

Thanks for all the advice and help guys!

I agree that kudos to Bet365 are in order....

Also, even though the privacy function is turned on, have you written to the email address on record?

It may take longer to get a response, or you may NOT get a response, but the email address itself must be a valid one.

If it bounces, then you can file a report for invalid contact info on every domain.

I am still waitng for a reply from the PMs I sent to the Intertops and Betfair affiliate managers on this site. I hope they follow Bet365's action. I heard back from Fun88.com's affiliate manager. He said he can't suspend the affiliate, which is BS, but will send an email. He then said he liked my work and inquired about some kind of partnership, lol.

I can't find an email at all for the websites; only an address in the bahamas. Renee did some searching and found a few email address for me, but they seem to be old owners of the domain. I sent emails to those addresses but haven't heard anything. It looks like I will be faxing a DMCA notice to HostGator this weekend.

Since I believe in giving props where they are do, here is the reply I received from Bet365:

    Hi Brad,

I totally agree and have suspended this affiliate’s account with immediate effect. He will therefore not profit from his underhand actions.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Best regards,
    Nigel

I would promote them if they accepted U.S. players because of this action! Props Bet365!!!

A whois of each domain MUST have an email address on record that is a real and valid email address.

Many registry service providers allows for privacy and will route the email address through their service, BUT, like I stated above, this MUST be a valid email address, and if the email bounces because the email account is not valid then the domain is subject to being turned off.

Like I said though, there is no rule that the person that owns the domain must actually answer a query you send through....

Not so for (e.g.) .co.uk domains, for those you only have to have a name and (physical) address - and even the latter can be opted out from being shown if you are a 'non trading individual'. Just a point of info. I assume all the domains that the OP is having trouble with are .com ones so that doesn't apply.

Thanks Ray, I thought the physical address was a requirement.

Personally, I think it should be required since it might reduce abuse.
