Default How will football reforms affect betting?

It seems that the various changes in football in Europe, South America and the rest of the world are moving towards more and more games, tournaments.

I recently listened to a sports programme about future changes and the presenters complained that the players would be heavily exploited and the matches would not be as exciting. They calculated how many matches there might be per year and it looks like a big increase is possible.

However, we at GPWA, are not interested in how this will affect the sport itself, the footballers or the fans (although many of us are probably also fans). We are interested in how it will affect sports betting.

How do you think, logically, could this positively affect the betting market? Or the opposite.

I personally think it can only affect it positively, which is rather obvious in my opinion. However, perhaps someone has other theories?

Incorrect IMO. How it affects fans has a direct impact on how it will affect betting.

I think whether the effect is positive or negative goes directly to whether fans feel players are being exploited, and or whether they think the changes have improved the games.

Having more games available would provide more betting opportunities for players surely.

But will the increase in the number of games lead to more injuries?

Having more games may also provide more opportunities for fans to see games in person which could also be an increase in fan base.

There are probably a lot more variables to the changes and the effect it might have.

Right, the mood of the fans may have some influence on betting. I admittedly target professional players on my site so I look at it a little differently. However, it's true on this point.

More injuries may give young players a chance. In addition, a higher number of matches will force teams to maintain a wide squad, which could revive the transfer market. However, these are more fan topics.

Your last point is a good one.

Do the proposals include an expansion of player numbers on the roster?

Is any portion of the suggestions for the changes in writing yet?

I for one have not been watching football(soccer) in recent years and am severely behind on new regulations and games. I watched the information about the changes on football related YT channels.
I guess also more teams are supposed to be in the world or european championships, I don't remember. They also talked about stopping time like in ice hockey. There are definitely going to be more matches in any case and from what I infer it's already a foregone conclusion, and that has a major impact on betting.

So let someone who follows the football competition on a regular basis have their say.
