Default I am Novice, please help

    Dear Friends,

I am a novice in this field and reside in India. The casino world attracts me very much. And now I am thinking of hosting my own site and join some good affiliate program.

I will appreciate, if any 1 tells me that are these affiliate programs profitable at all. SInce i am planning for a new site, there will be an investment involved with it. SO please give me a honest view. DO u think that I can get back my investment and start doing profits if i have a good traffic in my site??
Also if i get a good traffic in my site. What percentage of them usually signs up for real money game?

No sarcasm intended (promise) but define "good traffic"

The best traffic will convert nicely. As for making a profit, it depends on how much you have spent. Some people rely 100% on SEO traffic (traffic generated by their own optimisation) from top search engines like google, yahoo, and msn. They obviously don't have the pay per click costs associated with purchased traffic. As for free of cheap traffic, it's pretty nasty and rarely brings results. Not too bad for branding but rarely brings a positive dividend in the short term.

Recommend - Create a site, sign up with sites listed on the GPWA front page as sponsors or those you have seen endorsed by members themselves. Read up on optimisation and aim to get free traffic from big search engines. Perhaps a regional site for your home country will give you an edge. Country targeting is a growing phase in this industry and you can use language and local listings to give your site an edge.

    Default help please

Thanx Brian for your valuable suggestions and tips. I will surely fo;;ow your tips.

I am into web world for quite a time now. And am conversant with web designing and seo. For one of my client, I have designed several sites on casino. And they all are having good traffic with PR ranging from 6-8.

This encouraged me in designing my own site with casino affiliation. I know that i can make a pretty looking site with good content in it. Also since I myself is an SEO, so I know that I can attract a good amount of visitors.

But am not sure about making money from it. Since I am completely anware about it. Just for example, if i can get 10 visitors per day..... then what percentage of them approximately may sign up for the real game??

To tell you the truth, if you want to make a nice profit you need to build a good base of repeat visitors. Take a few of the bigger GPWA portals for example. They have a lot of repeat traffic and their visitors follow their guidance playing at new casinos, trying them out. It is rare to have players who stick to one casino (they do exist but are rare). What you need to do is build branding as well as SEO. A nice "add to favourites" will help. A good newsletter. Sticky content (stuff to keep them coming back).

No one can actually forecast a ratio for profit. You may have 100 players and make a small profit or 1 or 2 huge players and make a good income. I believe some webmasters make very big incomes, high 5 figures. Don't envy them though because that cost maybe 15 plus hours per day and years of effort. Simply start, build, and give of your best. Most of all read, learn, and 3 months after starting, join the GPWA and add to your knowledge stream. You can do no more than that.

    Good luck
    Have a wonderful day

10 visitors a day is not very good. 10 downloads a day (downloading the casino software games) would be better and on average would result in 1 real money player sign-up.
When we first started we had google pay per click (adwords) and used it to our full advantage. We built up players and are doing well with them. This will not last forever as players don't tend to stick around the same casinos for very long and I agree that you need to rely on your SEO skills to keep the numbers of visitors coming in.

It is a very competitive business but well worth it if you put the time and effort in.

Thanx Brian and BigDaddy for being so cooperative and helpful to me. I would also like to know more about "Google Pay per click (adwords)".

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that Google Adwords stopped accepting any sites that promote gambling same thing with overture.com (it's a U.S. bully thing)

There are other pay per click sites such as goclick.com and findwhat.com but they do not produce anywhere near the same results as google did. We see some bad traffic come from findwhat.com and goclick.com does not get as many hits as Google did.

With hosting and domain prices so low these days you might as well take a leap into this crazy world of ours. Like I said before, it is very competitive but the members at GPWA are pretty cool and offer very insightful advice.

    All the best!!
