Thumbs down I was cheated by chipleader (un)support

Was running very intensive campaign using two of their casinos UB and absolute poker. At the start we arrange some unique bonus codes which I used in campaign

Although my URL was leading do software landing page I had many visitors but not even 1 sale was made. Wrote them email asking if everything is OK and my tracking url is correct. They confirmed it is .

later on I discovered that actually my aff link was leading to someone else site
SURPRISINGLY ALL MY PLAYERS WERE REDIRECTED TO DEPOSITBONUS.COM WHICH WAS POPULATED WITH AFFILIATE LINKS

I am so long in affiliate business and never seen fraud like this! I got totally freak , wrote them email and they said that they already informed me about that change. Do they have right to switch my link to someone else?

When they rebranded Ultimate Bet to just UB{dot}com for some unknown reason they didn't redirect their domain name and either joined the affiliate game themselves, let the domain expire or sold the domain off.

Regardless, did you really think a company that has stolen money from their players wouldn't steal from affiliates? There is a reason they are still on many rogue lists.

I think you are better off sending the traffic to reputable companies.

Yes graham I believe you are rght.

They just sold their domain and that's it. OK I agree its not a crime. But look my email bellow, I asked them if everything is OK with tracking link as I did not getting any sales from it. They said Yes all OK but it was not OK !Ļ
Whole domain disappear. Instead of making money for myself I did it for someone else . THAT is nonsense, thats' why I blame them.

1st email where they confirm everything is OK ?!?!?

    > Dear Ms. Ibrisimbegovic,
We hope this email finds you well.

and 2nd one about domain name change redirected
Allow us to inform you that the players are being redirected to www.depositbonus.com since you are using the old banners. If you type ultimatebet.com, you will be re-directed to www.depositbonus.com. The old banners include the word ultimatebet.com as part of the code. All you need to do is change the banner to the new ones, which include ub.com.

Please note that all the affiliates were notified about this when we did the brand change. At this time, you are the only affiliate reporting this problem.

Should you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Thing is that I did not use any banners but BONUS CODE which players have to enter during registration. How could they sold that domain

According to their email they said "The BONUS CODE is properly tracking", not the links. I think that is where the confusion came in. What did your email say to them?

I think Graham hit it pretty much on the head. And as far as I know, they did email all affiliates about the domain name change. I agree that they should have set up a redirect to UB dot com rather than open a portal to pilfer traffic from the old banners and links but the UB/AP network are well known for the cheating scandals, the poor encryption issue, tracking problems, high fees, etc... so anyone working with them should expect things to be less than perfect.

    Default Chipleader Affiliate links

    Hi Jalle,

I hope you are doing great.

Unfortunately it looks like your email address/contact information is not updated in Chipleader. The team sent out numerous mailers/newsletters stating that your links needed to be changed. Any tracker that had 'ultimatebet' in the link needed to be modified to UB. I believe there was a mailer that went out in late July and late August with this information. I have attached one of them.

I do apologize for this confusion and frustration, if you need assistance with a bonus code, tracking link, or anything else please contact me at Danielle@chipleader.com. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I as well received the e-mail stating you needed to change the links, but again as someone else said why didnt they redirect these themselves. And why did they point everything to depositbonus?

Thanks Jalle for pointing this out - I'm glad I read this thread. It made us re-check our links too to ensure they were changed. We noticed on one of our sites that the link was not changed and was going to the portal. Just out of curiousity, does UB Poker/Absolute Poker own the portal? Why would the links not be redirected to UB Poker in case affiliates did not receive the email?

According to the whois I would say they still own the domain and are therefore now in the affiliate business....

IMO - They could easily have done a redirect but chose to pilfer players from affiliates who did not change their links.

If i remember correctly the story goes something like this:

Ultimatebet re-branded to UB some time ago (donīt remember when, but it was before the affiliate links switched). Then someone bought Cereus (UB/AP) and they got new owners very recently, and for some reason the domain Ultimatebet.com was not included in the deal/takeover, so actually UB.com and Ultimatebet.com have different owners after this. And therefore they needed to change affiliate links when the deal completed.

Unfortunately i canīt remember where a have been reading all this. (maybe 2+2 ??)

The email gave plenty of notice that they were gonna take credit for any traffic for themselves on any links that weren't changed.

UB is definitely benefiting from the redirected links since it appears they own depositbonus.com. Plus, if the links are being redirected to depositbonus.com, they could just as easily have been redirected to UB.com so affiliates would not have been ripped off for their referrals.

Whether the email gave ample notice or not, this is still pilfering players for the sake of it - not out of necessity.

Compare this whois record to the one above...

    Hi Pokerkeep,

Actually this is completely false, UB is not benefiting at all from this. Ultimate Bet owns Depositbonus.com and it has nothing to do with UB.com
This information was exuded to the public and I do suggest that if our affiliates are not receiving these newsletters/mailers please log in to your Chipleader account and edit your contact details. Also, Alex@chipleader.com, myself (danielle@chipleader.com), and Diego@chipleader.com would be happy to assist with any questions you may have.

I do apologize again for any confusion or lack of information.

    Very Best,
    Danielle

OK Danielle, it's just a coincidence that depositbonus.com, Absolute Poker and ub.com all use the same registrar. For the sake of transparency, would you mind posting who the new owners of AP and UB are?

She is saying we are ought to login to their site to check newsletters !?! But they are ought to do nothing, not even properly redirect their own domain names ?!?
    I hate this attitude.
