Default If England Win The Euros....

....are us UK-facing sports affiliates going to have to spend the next 12 months working off a massive negative balance on most accounts?!

Don't know about any of you guys, but I'm seeing deeper holes appearing after each win. If football does come home then I'm not sure I'll dare look at the numbers on Monday

There is no significant UK affiliate income from sports anymore, so nothing changes.

Yeah expecting some fair negatives if England win it, especially if Harry Kane sneaks the golden boot too, although most of the brands I push these days don't have NCO so should be one bad month then a bumper August as a lot of those punters spend some of those winnings back.

Even for the ones with NCO I expect a fair chunk of any winnings to come back over the following months. The Euros is one of the best events for people placing their first bets and winning is a good thing as then they could end up becoming an active customer for longer.

I'm with you! Most of my UK Sports punters are with bet365 who have NCO. Obviously we can't want England to lose, but it could make ugly reading. We're just going to have to take our lumps!

Yeah bet365 is the one I fear most - buckle up, could be a rocky ride!

We have no NCO deals with about 60-70% of the brands we push for sports in the UK. Most of these deals are special arrangements but some do it as standard too, e.g. 888 (or at least they used to, not sure for newer affs).

It is a prerequisite of getting on our sites these days, any new brand has to have no NCO. The only NCO deals we have are from way back, e.g. bet365, but given the value and retention with good brands like these short term negatives are never a problem. Basically only ones on NCO these days are the brands that demonstrate they have good enough retention to reverse negative balances fairly quickly.

Every time in the past where we have had a big negative with 365 following a bad result it has always reversed within a few months and this is then followed by several months of higher than normal rev because all of these customers that won are still actively betting.

You have to play the longer game with 365 sometimes but even if England win the Euros over a year your earnings with 365 won't be that badly affected, probably even better. That's what I find anyway, which is why I am happy to send them accounts with no NCO.

    Sorry no,

NCO = Negative Carry Over, no NCO = no negative cary over.

I.e. the deals I am talking about are mostly no negative carry over

The problem is that I always used NCO as No Carry Over (I liked rather the term "Reset"). I think this is why I sometimes did not understand what the people are talking aboit. It is pretty bad debate when people use the same term as antonyms. Hopefully it is just me using the shortcut in the opposite meaning.

I agree, it's the programs themselves that have driven this confusion. Most refer to NCO as negative carry over and so it's forced us to adopt it.

I think you mean it in the opposite way. At least in the context of this thread, where NCO = no reset = carry over.

Either way the only UK bookies I knew with reset were Unibet (they stopped with it even at accounts that were under monthly reset conditions); Betfair, who robbed nearly everyone and steal RS after few years from everyone and then I had reset deal with Ladbrokes, until they stole everything as well.

Just to clarify - in my terms, NCO means Negative Carry Over. And bet365 have that policy.
