Sounds like a terrible hosting company anyways. Best to warn affiliateguarddog users as well.

I agree - I even said "do you know how many gambling websites you host? You are going to loose 10% of your business!"

I think I am going to go with Jaguar PC for hosting. They are in the US but also have servers in the UK so if this would happen again hopefully they could just be moved over to the UK servers. I dont see GoDaddy doing this. I have a bunch of domains with GoDaddy but havent used their hosting only because others have said it isnt that good. I would actually feel pretty good hosting with GoDaddy that they wouldnt pull this type of crap but you never know.

Yes I have seen the criticism of godaddy, but I have found them fine. I have used their shared hosting in the past with no complaints and now I have a couple of VPS's and a dedicated server there. The way they (deliberately) structure the pricing I find it is better to put three sites on a VPS with dedicated IP each and then get another VPS. They make it so hard to add an extra IP address to a VPS after the first three and I wont do shared IP addresses. I have had no issues with them at all on the hosting side of things, very happy. Hopefully not famous last words.
PS: GoDaddy also have servers in the UK now, though I insist mine are hosted in the US.

This must be a recent policy change. I've been hosting gambling sites with them for many years, but won't be any longer. Oh well, if they don't want our business, there are plenty of other hosting companies that do.

    Hey guys,

I was one of those from PAL who has always recommended Bluehost. This sucks.

I've had gambling sites there for years with zero problems but won't be waiting for my sites to be taken down before moving.

Who do you guys recommend now? Happy to sign up under an aff link of course..

    Cheers,
    Alan

Godaddy is good, but there is downtime sometimes. Overall I am happy with them, but the have periods like on a sunday when football is on where my site is down. It has happened a few times but nothing crazy.

I haven't noticed this and I have been with them for many years but then I may just not of noticed. It can't be any worse than anywhere else. I moved to them because of major issues with a previous hosting company and I haven't had any sleepless nights (which I did have before), though I have seen other people say the same as you. I think / hope they have now got their act together because of the weight of criticism. Their customer service is so helpful but then I am from the UK, where everyone is rude as hell by default.

I actually decided to go with Go Daddy and so far so good. Just in the two days I have been working with them I will say the people there are as helpful as they can be.

I am using both a shared Linux plan for my one site and I have also bought a dedicated server so I am hoping the dedicated will not see any down time. The price is good , about the cheapest out there for dedicated by a name you can recognize.

I just hope all goes well! Good luck to all who are also moving. I hope BlueHost bites it! haha

Just switch to Icebluehost to see how it's done right. Here's a normal link and an affiliate link if the admins will permit. You choose which one to click.

Hostgator and Namecheap are great alternatives IMO - I'd stick with them or Godaddy

Hey guys, any additional feedback on that?
We're planning to send a Newsletter to inform our affiliates about the potential risk, would want to make sure this is still a running issue.

    Your initiative is a bless.

I didn't find in BlueHost policy any official mentioning of disallowing
gambling sites, but after what happened to UltimatePokerBonus I wouldn't
    risk host my sites there....

It's covered by a 'anything we deem inappropriate' clause.

I don't recommend Godaddy, we had a lot of problems before with it, specially using wordpress. Hostgator is OK, but their tech support is not the best.

We are currently using Amazon web services but setting up the server is a pain in the ass. Service is very good tho.
