Saw this yesterday at LAC. Excellent news, Berlin conference was always my favourite - great move to take it back there!

Never went to Lisbon myself so can’t comment, however the feedback I got was it was very quiet. Great move taking it back to Berlin and what looks like a decent venue.

Good choice. Berlin has better connections than Lisbon and Germany is a better market than Portugal. Also, Berlin is a nice city than Lisbon in my opinion.

I never made it to Lisbon and planned to go in 2020 as it would have been an awesome opportunity to combine work and golf However, Berlin is also an amazing place and some years back the conference there was very successful and it was hard to understand why it was taken down from the calendar at all. Well at least it is way more accessible than Lisbon.

Let’s hope Coronavirus isn’t still lingering around when this comes around later in the year, sure if this conference had been in the next few weeks it would have been at risk of cancellation.

I really liked Lisbon, a nice city. It is true that the conference was always quiet there. But as a city I preferred going to Lisbon.

In october it will be gone. When the weather gets warmer the virus will die slowly. Amsterdam could be a problem. I think that one will be cancelled.

I believe that October and November will be good months for conferences.

For 6 months now all can be taken in order, it depends on anti-dot, precautions and people to try to self-isolate themselves.

It is a great challenge to Europe nowadays.

After Italy , Germany , Spain and France are in bad situation too.

In Asia now is the second wave of COVID -19.

Berlin is a great place to organise conferences. Or whatever happenings. However, I really liked Lisbon too. Would be awesome if iGB can keep both locations for conferences. For instance every second year in Lisbon and every second year in Berlin.

When drifter8 said in march that it would be the soonest in a year from now I was skeptical. But now I am afraid he is right.

I keep hoping that everything goes back to "normal" and we will be able to travel again and go to conferences. Although we will probably not be able to go to Berlin this year.

All of the time I was had ideas that Sigma 2020 will be held but :

- now the Malta is not that infeced, but can you imagine what can happen when 15-20 k people land on the island.

- we cannot all be in 14 days quarantine during the exhibition and the 2-2,5 meters distance is far to hard to be followed.

- also there you can travle 120 % only with Taxis or Shuttles

- I really do not belive that soon will be International flight , all the countries want to protect their people.

We hope all soon there will be a vaccine made or invented, either way 12 months from now. It will be more than I have expected.

Considering we have been told that international travel (excluding trans tasman) will be on hold until 2021, we definitely won't be at Amsterdam or Berlin this year. I'd be surprised if we are allowed to travel in time for LAC tbh.
