IMPORTANT: Betfair Affiliates Announcement

Hello everyone,

As part of the evolution of the Betfair programme, the new team (Jamie, Anthony & myself) have been looking at all aspects of the programme to make improvements to benefit our Affiliate partners going forward. During this process, we identified an error which we have now successfully rectified.

What happened?
When we launched the new Sportsbook product back in November 2012, the adjustment % we used to get Net Revenue from Gross Revenue was being calculated incorrectly.

What are adjustments?
Adjustments are made to get Net Revenue from the Gross Revenue (after player bonuses have been deducted), on which we pay you a % of, as your commission. The adjustments cover our local taxes, software/ licensing costs, chargebacks, etc.

What was the problem?
The error in calculation effected all negative revenues where by the adjustment % was being added to the negative instead of being taken away, essentially increasing the negative position even further. In light of this, a full review was performed and players effected identified.

Are you owed any money?
We have notified everyone on the programme if they are owed money, please check the email address you have registered with us.

What about going forward?
The adjustments have been corrected and an update was released on the 6^th November to correct the error. Now the error has been corrected, you will see the correct calculations in Netrefer, which may result in your position being improved.

On behalf of Betfair I would like to apologise. The new Affiliate Team is working hard to make sure the programme is working correctly (tracking, payments, reporting) and that we are fully transparent with our Affiliate partners. Affiliate marketing is an integral part of Betfair strategy for the future and we are investing in a number of areas to make sure we are a forerunner in the market.

I can think of a handful of programmes who would not have shared this information or who would have caught the mistake and fixed it but not applied it retroactively.

Hats off to you for coming forward and fixing it from Day 1 on.
