Introducing POGGStrategies

I’d like to introduce everyone to our latest project – POGGStrategies.com

POGGStrategies is a collaborative effort between the owners of ThePOGG.com, Gaffg.com and BeatingBonuses.com.

In the latter half of last year the 3 of us got together and decided that we each had skills that we could bring to the table that would make for the creation of a very strong resource for both players and affiliates. The resultant resource has taken 100s of hours of work to compile and consists of over 200k words of content (to give a comparison the word count for the longest of the 3 Lord of the Rings novels is 187k). While there have been some bumps in the road along the way, some readers may have been aware of the work happening on this site as early as LAC this year, we feel we’ve come out with the strongest possible resource for them.

The focus of the site is casino games and the best strategies to use when playing them. The site goes into the mathematics of the vast majority of online games commonly on offer today but focuses on providing information that’s easily useable by the average reader. We provide a wealth of calculators and strategy trainers to help learn the games you want to play (we’re particularly proud of our very flexible and diverse Video Poker Strategy Trainer).

POGGStrategies is a work in progress and we will be expanding on the tools and resources we’ve put together over the coming months. If you have any feedback, comments or even requests as to what you’d like to see us add please feel free to let us know.

One last thing – we won’t be taking requests for advertisement on POGGStrategies. Placement on this site will be by invitation only and only available to those operators that are already very well rated on ThePOGG.com.

Part of the reason for starting the site was actually the WoO. I was working with Michael on the site in the middle of last year and so became aware of the impending sale before it got announced. I really like using the WoO as a reference site and with the sale couldn't be sure who the new owners would be or what they'd do with the site. It would be really easy to break the content on that site if someone without understanding made some edits for marketing purposes. So it seemed that the best way to keep a stable reference for this type of material was to gather together a group that could put up a resource that could compete with the WoO. I think we've managed that which I'm very proud of.

Wish you all the best for the site! The videopoker calculator is a bit wider than the actual box but I like it still. This is similar to what we wanted to put together for this game. For the blackjack, where our main emphasis is right now, I was curious if you put together a chart which is changing by modifying each rules. Not a two minutes job for something that is not high on demand, still, I think it would look way better if that could be defined by the user, too.

For the immediate future that isn't on the table. We do have a tool that can calculate Basic Strategy for the vast majority of rule sets you could encounter, but nothing that updates live as users change the rules. In the immediate future we'd like to put together trainers for several other table games and blackjack is amongst that list, though it does require some more development work.
