invoicing Q

Can someone please explain how invoicing works with betfair? I see a list of invoices under payment owed, do I e-mail them all to bfair and if so can someone please give me the e-mail address - I could not find any info within their documentation on how to do this properly or if it's needed.

If you are tax registered you do need to invoice us once you receive our invoice confirmation email. All other affiliates will be paid automatically once they reach the 50GBP payment threshold.

Please can you provide us with your affiliate ID and we can check the status of your payment.

Andre, I am a bit confused by the logic of your answer. I understand it may have had historical context and I assume by tax registered you mean VAT registered. Betfair now asks affiliates to invoice to two companies - one for sports earnings and one for gaming. Both these companies are registered in locations where VAT does not exist (Cayman Islands and Malta). A European VAT registered company can not invoice either of these Betfair holding companies for VAT as they are "outside scope" for VAT purposes. Indeed Betfair was quick to point this out when the company structure changed. So given VAT no longer applies at all as far as Betfair is concerned, why the differentiation between affiliates that are VAT registered and those that are not?

You're correct regarding the VAT situation. Now that affiliates all contract with Betfair entities outside the EU, there is no longer any difference between VAT registered and non VAT registered affiliates in terms of invoicing requirements. We no longer need a VAT invoice from the VAT registered affiliates, but we need an invoice for Accounts Payable to process the payment.
