Default James deserves a thank you

Not not thanking myself, thanking James from Bet365. He has put up with my dismal performance with Bet365 and still makes the time to respond to questions etc. He even listens to my stories from the sand and sun with what seems like interest!

This week I received an extensive report via email with a high level of transparency with the numbers. As I said to him, too many programs have affiliates on a supposedly need to know basis and don't understand that sometimes we are left with a less than favourable impression of them.

James and the team at Bet365 seem to be making a real effort to provide some meaningful data and from my end deserve a bit of thanks. Well done.
    James

Thanks Jarvi, I appreciate your kind feedback about us.

Just about to get ready and try and get to London (about 3 hours away) in this insane snow (wish I was in the sun!) but when I saw your post I wanted to respond straight away.

On your first point, my team and I always try and look at the potential, rather than the delivered. Other professional affiliate managers will agree here that you should always try and help affiliates regardless as at the end of the day the role isn't about sitting back and watching money roll in from a few top partners, which it is actually possible to do if one wanted to work that way (not us!).

On the second point it's always nice to shoot the breeze a bit too in the course of building a relationship, thats part of the reason we do this job. The great think about this industry is how the relationships transcend the boundary between business and friendship that is more apparent in other less exciting fields.

On the third point I maintain that transparency is key to building trust. To be proactive with that transparency rather than reactive only serves to strenthen that trust. Obviously there is always a desire (from us as well as affiliates) for deeper and deeper data though what we offer is already a great indication of performance.

On your fourth point my team and I are always trying to build new and interesting ways to engage affiliates. Most affiliates are promoting a ton of programmes and it can be difficult for them to find the time to log in and check everyone. Part of the job of a good affiliate manager is to make life easier for the affiliates that have taken the time to sign up to their programme, by getting involved with certain key tasks. It is important that we don't lose sight of the fact that what we do is 'performance marketing,' and therefore the data requires consistent and constant attention.

As a final point you should know that whilst it may seem like a quick thank you post from your end, affiliate managers operator wide will be united in agreeing that posts such as this with a simple thank you can be what ultimately makes everything that we do worthwhile, so as I always say in this scenario, I am really grateful for it.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

    James

    I concur

James is a top class affiliate manager, i will not go in to details but the patience of the guy is unlimited and he keeps the faith, my relationship with bet365 is as far as i am concerned, absolutely solid and that is down to the time and effort James put in on a one on one basis.

Also a shout out for Adam and Nigel at bet365, two other guys there that i work closely with in different areas and both have the same mentality and work ethic as James.

    Top guys all round.

    Thanks Martin

Nigel and Adam (and the rest of my team) work extraordinarily hard so we appreciate your post also.

Looking forward to seeing you at LAC! Lets hope it doesn't snow as it looks as though I may not be going anywhere near London today.

I also totally agree with Jarvi's post about James.
He is the same with me, yet I am also what could be termed as a "non performer" at Bet 365.
I also have to throw Rebecca into the mix too, as both her and James spend time emailing me despite not making any money out of me yet. The operative word being "yet" because I am determined to make money there due to their efforts

How about Tuesday the 14th Dec at 9.00am GMT with Rebecca and I - or will that be a ridiculous time for you?

Was it you guys that send me a big x-mas hamper from b365? I wasn't 100% sure if it was from the players or affiliate department but i thought it was the aff. dep. If so (or well, whoever it was): a big thank you to all at b365. It was greatly appreciated!
