Default Jan 2015 forum issues report area

I figured it would be easier for us to report to the tech guys at Casino City issues we might see with the forum since the latest upgrade/migration if we centralize the reports of things we might see as issues etc.

We do know about and have reported the post thank you is currently not working.

Since the Taptalk Posting is handled through a plug-in, could someone that normally posts that way confirm it is working?

Leopold helped us discover that embedding images is a little wonky, but if you have trouble with that, watch for the "Basic Uploader" in the lower right corner of the uploader interface popup as I have found it to work better.

If you find issues, let us know here.

What's happened to the ability to thank in posts?

Yes thank you, that has been noted as I stated above, I have verified the plugin exists, and have added that to the list of things for the techs to look at.

I have also noticed that the friendly url re-writes are not taking place exactly as they did in the past.

I do not know if that is tied in to changes that had to be made for VBSeo or not, but it will be looked at also.

Hey, how about a thumbs up/down for posts instead of a thank you? Sometimes I read a post and agree with it, but don't want to say thanks.

    I like thumbs up/down...

Separately, since the migration, I find myself having to log in twice before being able to check new posts.

As per Michael's post here https://www.gpwa.org/forum/showthrea...790#post778790 the minor issue with embedding images within posts should now be fixed.

Thanks for the report Shay, one thing you might want to try, is a complete log out when you are done browsing (at the end of a session). What this "should" do is delete your session cookie and when you return to the forum it will force a login and set a new cookie.

I am not sure this will fix the issue, but I have had to do this at times after browsing using a test account and that seems to usually take care of double logins. I suggest closing the browser completely if you can after the logout.

Rick, that fix did not resolve the problem.

Shay, when you say the issue is not resolved, do you mean for posts previously made, or for new posts made now? I ask because there was a secondary task to fix images that had not been cached locally on the GPWA website, and I don't yet have confirmation from the tech team that has been done yet, so I believe it would be correct to just consider that a known and yet to be resolved part of the issue. But if using new images in posts is an issue, then I need let the tech team know the problem is not fixed at all yet.

    Thanks,

The tech team tells me that they turned the blogs off, and then turned them on, and that they believe that has resolved this issue with the blogs not working properly on the new server. Please let us know if you still see any issues with the blog.

Michael, I'm referring to the needing to log in twice issue still being unresolved.

Sorry about that Shay, I figured it was worth a try lol...

What browser are you using Shay, I have been unable to recreate the issue.

Does it happen 100% of the time?

    Rick

Also, I see the thank you's are working again as well.

Using Firefox 35.0.1. It happens 100% of the time when I need to log in. I log in, click new posts, and am told that I need to be logged in to see what I'm looking for. Then I log in a second time and I am good to go.

This occurs both with vpn on and without vpn.
