Joan Rivers calls poker players "beyond white trash"

The reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice is in the midst of its second season here in the States, and it is full of D-Listers just yearning for that last glimpse of fame. One of those D-Listers is the detestable Joan Rivers. She has a few problems with fellow competitor Annie Duke, the poker pro.

Rivers has called Duke a "piece of ****" and a "Nazi," and last week went on to attack the poker community.

"I don't want to hear this charity nonsense," she said to Duke. "Your people, you give money with blood on it. And you're a poker player - a poker player! That's beyond white trash. Poker players are trash, darling, trash."

WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack said in a conference call yesterday that he "would love to see a woman win the main event ... unless that woman happens to be Joan Rivers."

I tkink the only person who has ever taken Joan Rivers serious..... is Joan Rivers herself. She is pathetic to have said that to Annie Duke. She doesn't have much to offer when she can only compete through criticism. I think the WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack summed it up very well. Well said.

This show, Celebrity Apprentice, is a cruel joke on all the participants. You're 100% right when you say it's a bunch of D-Listers scrambling for that last chance at fame. I don't understand why anybody would degrade themselves to be on it.

Has anyone watched the show? I watch all the D listers { great term by the way, they are has beens this year]. And even though i do not like Joan, and love the poker world of people, Annie Duke is a Bitch, a backstabber, and i can't wait to see if she loses. On the other hand, the stupid blonde is so manipulated by Duke, Duke deserves to beat her. So i guess i am hoping "clint black" wins?? Yuk! I don't think anyone should win this year! The one person i thought deserved to win was Hershal Walker, class act, and he got booted!

Joan rivers is the definition of white trash, and the only reason she lashed out with her dirty words, is because she was sticking up for her daughter, who on the other hand, got the shaft last week!....Do i need a life?? LOLLLL

I think Rivers is very funny and actually laughed out loud at some of her comments. "Both breasts can count to 10" -- LMAO!!

Duke's reputation was that of an arrogant, manipulative bitch well before there was such as show as Celebrity Apprentice. The bad thing is that the Rivers girls were far too sensitive about it, and the producers and editors put the spotlight on the Rivers/Duke conflict for our viewing pleasure.

We've all been manipulated by the best of the best. After all, we should remember that the show is edited to get the most out of everything. The goal of the editors is to emphasize, sensationalize and magnify any tiffs and arguments. What has taken place over days is edited down to less than an hour of air time, and there is no doubt the editors are going for shock value to get more people to tune in. I wonder how that's working for them...

Annie and her partner just beat Joan and her team in a task that she felt they didn't have a chance of winning because it involved music. Clint Black messed up and did a country spin on it and the executes felt the audience would be to small.

Even though I love country, I have to agree.

Now the final two are Annie and Joan. Go figure lol. They'll battle it out next week.

LOL I did watch one episode early in the season where Dennis Rodman was suppose to be working, but got drunk the night before and did not open his door and had some lame excuse and on top of that threw the only guy that was trying to cover for him under the bus and back it over him!

I did not know about the Annie/Joan drama until reading this post and watching. I knew that she would come back. I hope Annie beat her!

Poker legend, 10-time WSOP bracelet winner Doyle Brunson has set his foot down and demands for Joan Rivers to apologize to the poker world for her narrow, offensive comments on Donald Trump's 'The Celebrity Apprentice'.

Recapping, during the show Joan Rivers said "Your people give money with blood on it. I met your people in Las Vegas. None of them have last names. You’re a poker player. A poker player! That’s beyond white trash. Poker players are trash, darling, trash.” and remarked on all poker players being tax evaders, individuals with no last name and worst than white trash.

To put some pressure on Rivers, Doyle has decided to use Twitter as a weapon. Some of the lines he has been writing are:

"Joan Rivers bought a scarf but she took it back because it was too tight,"

"Joan Rivers went to the doctor for a zit on her butt. He told her it was a brain tumor....[ouch]"

"If you gave Joan Rivers a penny for intelligence, you would get a refund."

He promised not to stop until she officially apologizes.
