About LinkBacksRighthaven, which has frequently been described a copyright troll because of its efforts to sue people (including members of the GPWA) trying to share stories on the Web, has been ordered by a judge to forfeit the copyrights it owns, along with other intangible assets, to settle the company's debt.

I am sure anyone they sell the rights to will be better to deal with!

The problem is that there isn't much value in the copyrights.....UNLESS the new owners do the same thing and file lawsuits all over the place....
....or the new owners would never get a return for their investment....
Why would anyone want to pay for the rights?

I personally think the answer is that nobody would want to pay much for the rights to the articles.
I think the judge mostly has a really good sense of poetic justice.
Heck, I might be willing to pay $50.00 for the rights. It would be fun just for the publicity of being able to grant a free license all of the folks who had agreed to cease desist use of various articles after being attacked by Righthaven.
Just think of the pr value of the links from publicity of such an action.....
Anyone want to bid more?

Heck, I'd go $100 and take Michael's suggestion and give the marketer's the free license to use them....
In addition, I would sue the papers to remove the content, and also go after Righthaven themselves if they publish any portion of them....
It would serve them right to get a taste of what they made others feel.....
