"one of the reasons brands don't take affiliates seriously"
And one more quote for my all time collection.
From the guy, who spreaded first the barefaced lie, that GPWA is funded by exactly the same sponsors as IGB is, and now declares in the public, that "brands don't take affiliates seriously", based on [several] "reasons" (Plural).

Regardless of the (justified, IMO) insults flying back and forth, these 'awards' are as valuable as the toilet paper I flush down my toilet.

Spot on. When I worked for Ladbrokes between 2000 - 2005 they had no affiliate department as such. When they then built one, which actually was quite good ( Thanks to the likes of Andre and Andy ) they then destroyed it by inventing Score.
Fast forward a couple of years and Ladbrokes are leading the charge in shafting affiliates any which way they can from their Tel Aviv Affiliate Programme HQ.
They feel their land based presence is enough alone. Hence what Neil says is spot on.
