Default Which laptop do you have?

I've got a 3 or 4 year old ASUS K53S now. Looking for a new one, but I really don't know which one to choose!

What sort of laptop do you have and if you would buy a new one one of this weeks, which one would you take?

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro. I must say it is a good quality product but I do feel that it is a bit over-rated and definitely over priced. I experienced more start up issues when installing the first operating system update than any other Windows computer I have previously owned.

HP Octo core, 16gb ram its recent but bulky, bad battery as i need it to be powerful and mobile, I always have it plugged in anyhow.. I like the slim netbooks but not practical, I run linux which is a great OS will never go back to a commercial OS ever again.

I also do like slim notebooks/laptops/etc, but to be honest they are not that practical for me. Most time anyway I am at my desk, so even a desktop would suit me!

I don't have a laptop. I prefer to use a desktop, and will occasionally use an iPad to look things up if I'm not in the office.

Same here, bought a desktop recently, best decision ever as i work faster now plus spec wise its much better/cheaper than most laptops.. especially macbooks, thinking of adding a 2nd monitor to work even faster, i use my macbook when im away from my office..

I have an old Dell which has been working great for at least 5 years now. I am going to get one here in the next few weeks and it will be another Dell since my current one has been so good to me.

I use an HP Pavilion, tried a few other brands and the HPs seem at least a little more robust. I do seem to go through laptops at an inordinate rate though, must hit the keys too hard or something!

I had a Macbook Air which was due an upgrade and was failing so I borrowed a friends Ģ350 laptop which worked 10 times faster than the Mac. I wouldn't recommend buying an Apple computer unless you want it for fashion, that's all they are good for really.

Had a good laugh at the new "Macbook" a Ģ1200 netbook HA

I don't have a laptop and don't plan on buying one. They're weak, they run hot, and you can't work on them continuously unless you want a bad back.

I'm a fan of small form factor PCs connected to big screens. I actually built me a new one with an SSD hard drive last week. It's one of a kind, and it reboots in 5-10 seconds. Runs on Windows 8.1.

I'm a PC fan with twin screens also but we do have a couple of Asus laptops as well which have always served us well. They're pretty much standard affairs - nothing too powerful, but last and are of an ok construction.

When it comes to working though a laptop, I find it's restrictive unless you add a real keyboard and mouse and screen.

Custom build, always go custom, hugely better value for money. And before anyone says what if it breaks, the time this broke they took it back and fixed it at no charge, even though I was past warranty.

Toshiba on the other hand..... even though I only had it for 6 weeks and apparently had a load of salt inside the machine..... yup salt that's what killed it.... basically told me to bugger off. So ermmm yer don't buy Toshiba at least

At home where I do most of my work I use a desktop with a strong Intel i7 processor and 2 x 24" Dell monitor.

If I am not at home it is a Lenovo Carbon X1 laptop.

Last week I won a HP Chromebook. I never used the Chrome OS before but it works very good. Starts up in less than 10 seconds, works fluently, more than 8h battery life. On the other hand you can't do everything with it. Most things you can't do online are not possible. The screen resolution for the Chromebooks is low.
