Question Which of the largest gambling destinations have you visited?

Today I announced the GPWA is offering free passes to the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas in October in the following thread:

Join the GPWA at G2E 2018, October 8 to 11: Get Your Free Pass Today!

Historically G2E is not the most popular show for those involved in the iGaming industry because of legal issues stunting the growth of the industry within the United States. But still, many affiliates have visited the show over the years, partly out of a desire to visit Las Vegas, historically the largest gambling city in the world, though more recently Macau has taken the lead based on gross gaming revenue.

So, for this week's poll, I thought I would ask folks which gambling destinations they have visited. I've listed the top four in the poll, but please include others in posts in this forum thread. And feel free to embellish your post with a favorite gambling story.

Personally, I've been to many gambling destinations. The first was Atlantic City, New Jersey. The company my wife and and founded did work for the Atlantic City Showboat Casino way back in the beginning of the 1990's. Next on my list was Las Vegas in 1996. We launched the website CasinoCity.com in 1995, and showed it off a a trade show in Las Vegas the following year. Since then I've also been to Macau, Biloxi, Laughlin, and all the casino towns in Colorado (Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek).

My favorite personal gambling story is the time I took the free shuttle bus from Black Hawk to Central City, got a coupon for a free roll of nickels, and then won a jackpot on a nickel slot machine. Not a lot of money, but the percentage gain was impressive. I have a few favorite family gambling stories. the one that started it all is that my father won the money to buy my mom's engagement ring playing poker. Then there is my daughter Emma, playing poker in something like the first grade. The kids were betting food from their lunches, and some were going without food before parents complained and the teachers decided they had to put a stop to it. An then there is my youngest (very under-age son at the time) that played for free on full-tilt poker when it first opened, and eventually pulled his older brother in and got him interested enough to become a serious real-money player there for a while.

Although I have chosen Vegas, i also chose other since I have also visited the Hard Rock in Tampa.

Even though Tampa may not be considered a huge "gambling destination" city wise, nor are they loaded with casinos on every corner, the Hard Rock itself is a rather large impressive casino. (from wiki) In fact the Hard Rock Tampa is a 190,000 square foot casino is the sixth-largest in the world, and has been expanded multiple times since its opening. It is a 24-hour venue that permits smoking indoors.

I do not know how long ago the wiki was updated, but it is clearly a top 10 in gaming space world wide.

I've been to Sydney, Australia many times and they beautiful and very large casino venues down there. They have so many games to play with lots of slot machines. I haven't been down there in a while, but I hope to go back someday soon. It's always very busy down there all year round and they must make a huge profit.

Casino City Press operates the website GlobalGamingAlmanac.com, a subscription-based site offering data to those in the gaming industry. From that site I extracted the current top 25 gaming properties in the world based on gaming positions. We calculate gaming positions as (the number of slot machines) plus (the number of table games) times (six) plus (the number of bingo seats). That is, of course, a different measure than number of square feet of casino space.

Thanks Michael, some interesting metrics there, I knew Foxwodds would certainly be a high ranker, but it nice to see them ranked that way.

What is even more interesting, is not a single Las Vegas property.

Visited none of the above so far unfortunately, but I'm keen to very much!
So far I've been visiting couple of big casinos in Germany which was a nice experience but none compared to the above I'm sure...

I have been to Las Vegas several times but when I compare it to Macau for example, Macau just appeals to me so much more. Las Vegas Hotels are outdated and need a revamp, same do the casinos themselves. I think a total make over is needed.
